Me too Snowtank. There are some good upgrades available excluding the much more expensive M1 hull on tankzone.
Just think with a larger view how to improve better your tank with any parts you can find.

A very short video but pretty interesting:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_4AV8tyFTGE

Full metal model, hear realistic turbine initializing sound.

IT ARRIVED!! Wow that was very fast, particularly coming in from Montreal where it went through customs. The box is HUGE! Wow.
I got it out of the box and that wasn't easy. The Tank was secured the box extremely well. I had to use a screwdriver to loosen the mounts that kept it fastened to the styrofoam.

This Tank is big. I ran it briefly but the battery was nearly dead so it needs to be recharged fully for it to have a proper run. I was able to drive it a couple of feet before it died and tried the Main turret rotate and MG.

I took some pics for now and will do a full review on this latest addtion to my ever expanding Tank collection.

Will do. One things for sure. This Tank has huge upgrade potential. If I could get metal tracks for it possible elmod or just install a RX 18 and a muzzel flash unit. I would remove the stock canvas bags and add more realistic looking bags. So much you can do but as a stand alone out of the box it is a great looking tank. .. hmmm I think I see a German Leopard on the horizon. Oh I got a 5% discount coupon too so I can put that towards the Leopard...there I go again..

Is this tank the same as the Tamiya Leo in size and the running gear?

I don't know. I never seen a Tamiya Leo upclose in this scale before. Only on the Youtube vids.

Ok First test run indoors. This isn't the official review but just a teaser. The Tank runs smoothly and turns well. There is only 1 speed however much the same as the Matorro T34-85. It steers the same as well so that I am getting adjusted to. 2 sticks up to make it go forward and both back to go reverse. Suspension is very good. No engine sounds whatsoever. Needs a sound system there. I fired the plastic bomb. Range is shorter than a Airsoft bb but it's cool to watch it go . All other systems work fine.
Think I will open this Tank up and see what's inside. Be back with pics later. I believe the new Leopard has engine sounds.

That is PRETTY BIG compared to the Tiger II and looks nice too! I might get one just to gather dust for the size alone. If and when an opponent in 1/16th comes along I might then upgrade it.

Is there another choice besides the desert sand?

I like the line-up of radios on the wall in the background. Is that your hobby room?

You can get the T-90 in this scale and the German Leopard A6. The A6 turret is much longer with shield flaps that open and close for a more menacing appearance. I am already sourcing out pricing. Yes you can get other colors such as Nato, Forest Green.

That's where I do my modeling in that confined space. There are more TX's on the other side of the room on the wall. Hanging from the ceiling are about 50 plastic models of various types of aircraft and Sci-fi. Behind the Tanks is one of my RC combat Warships(10) in total. I got a TX for each Tank, 8 for the ships and Subs. Another 3 for the Helicopters and 1 for the plane.

You can view it on Youtube or on my videos at Youtube under 16FEET
You can see it in action in photos at RCNAVALCOMBAT.COM under Action shots or beauty shots. Both under the photo gallery. [8D]

That would be awesome Blitz! I can't wait to see those pics and video. How much did it cost you for this upgrade? I was thinking about the Elmod system for this. Not sure how it would affect the other functions of the Tank.

So anybody else has metal tracks for this Tank besides Tamiya? How much are Tamiya tracks for an Abrams?[8D]

Great news blitzkrieg65!

Thanks for comparisons SNOWLEOPARD, that gives an idea of ambram's size.

On my Abrams I use standard tracks from Tamiya Leo 2A6 wich are very good about quality and look very similar to abrams one (similar pads too!). I use custom realistic abrams spockets too. You can find custom metal tracks for Abrams tank but they are so expensive (150 $). Otherweise they're not produced by Tamiya. You can find both versions: early and later.

The "Side Shields" on the Leopard 2 swing out so that the powerpack can be pulled once the turret is traversed to the side. The Leo and Abrams use the same track design. The abrams had a different pad design but the pads design we currently put on the abrams today are rectangular like on the Leo. As far as tamiya tracks go the armor museum in Danville has the cheapest ones i have found, they have a website but its slipping my mind at the moment.

That's great. I'm pretty sure I saw the source for those. Can't remember too well today I'm suffering from SEARCH OVERLOAD. Like to upgrade this Tank in the future.
