Where are the Russian tanks? The T-34's, KV-1/2/85's, IS-2/3, SU-85/100/122/152's and all the rest? Your nation produced alot of great tanks and I hope we'll see more of them.

Nice Job HAL. You made good use of some old parts, and turned them into a unique tank. Some great modeling skills revealed. Thanks for sharing. Here is my old Pantiger

    yellowshaker:

Want a good source for chain? Dollar stores in the jewelry section. Most of it is plated or even super-light aluminum, but a bit of paint, and it can look quite decent. Two other locales that I've noted has chain that 'might do' are some of the Walmarts in the Crafts section, and Michaels. You'll pay a bit more, but if your hobby shop doesn't have it, these places probably will. Mebbe Hal will tell us how many links-per-inch it is (the usual measurement for hobby chain)

When I finally get my Leo, I'll be taking a fragment in to get 'sized' so I can do the smoke pots up on both of my 1A4's the same way. Probably with a sizable hunk left over for other uses, of course.

Yea, I'm used to thinking outside the box... comes with having started modelling at age 10 when I first got sick, and then running BattleTech in full miniatures style for tournaments. Now, its just plain habit... if I can't buy it as-is, how can I ~make~ it... and with what?

As noted elsewhere, next super-scratch is the Bridge from Dollar-Store trellis-wood. Will let all know how it goes.

    RE: MY

    Oh yea...

You dunno how glad I am to see people finally embracing the " What-If... " units I had hoped more would do way back when RCACN first was getting rolling. No-one really told Percy Hobart what he couldn't do, and look what he did: the British 79th Armoured Divisions' " Funnies " which included the very innovative but poorly deployed Sherman DD's, the Crocodile, the Crab, and a whole bunch of others (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hobart%27s_Funnies)

I've got a few innovative designs up my sleeve... I just needed both time and money. Now with Money, and ~very~ soon to have the Time (and Energy!) I'll be able to get to them.

Don't stop Hal, or any of you others. Especially you after-marketers like our man in Texas... (still want one of his M36 turrets)

With you pushing, and others getting in like HL and Hooben, mebbe Tamiya will start listening to us a ~bit~ more... (like they should have with the IDF Sherman... at least the hull can be adapted more easily than the turret, eh?)

    Keep 'em layin' track, guys!
