Default panzer 4 schurzen

No funds for a new sherman so i started a rebuild of an old p4 so this time i thoughtt i would post a few progress pictures. Im still not shure if the hull will get mesh or solid plates. The other big thing will be building a new mantlit for the long 75.

You're doing a great job on the shurzen! If you can figure out how to make the frames & plates for the hull, I'll bet a lot of people here would be willing to buy a set from you - (which would help to give you funds for that Sherman). Just a thought. -Mike

The parts are not to mutch but just the turet armor took 4+ hours i dont think it would be worth the price. I do it for fun this is the forth one i have tried first one was a p3 then a jagdpanther and a stug. I realy like the look of the extra armor on the german tanks and it is cool when it rattels around when runing.

For anyone who wants schurzen for the pzr iv turret just buy this, it has the schurzen plus all the mounts. All you have to do is glue it on.

A few more pics today hatches and a few other small parts. I had not even thought about the tamiya i may look for a mantlit it looks like the hardest thing to do on this. Honestly i enjoy building stuff from scrap when it is done it will mostly just sit anyway.

The parts tree that gives you the mantlet also gives you a stowage bin that's right for the Panzer IV, (it tapers in from the top). The one that comes on the Heng Long Panzer IV is more correct for the Panzer III (it tapers OUT from the top). -Mike

Wehrtmacht 39,
I have never ordered from here before. It looks like the Schuzern and mantlet are from the same vendor. How could I order both items and save on shipping? Thanks.

I have done that a couple of times, buy both items and he should email you bill with discount on the second item shipping. You could ask seller question before purchase if you want.

The brass looks great, I had a web page somewhere around here that actually was the shop drawings for the shurzen, had dimentions and mounting points and everything. I'll have too see if I can dig it up.

That would be a big help this is just copied from photos. Alot of the drawings i have found dont work out on the heng long like the barrel / mantlet. I am not an expert but i think a buntch of stuff on it has scale issues os all i can do is try it make it look rite.

I sprayed a base coat it still needs a little clean up on the putty and built some wood tool handles made from q tips. Now i need to drill and solder the gearboxes to take some of the slop out this has the worst ones i have then add brass bushings to the road wheels.

A little more all i could find in the junk box for bushings was an old radio antena. press fit into the hub drilled out a little and saw it off with that and tightening the bogies there is almost no play mutch better than it was.

Yup I agree, Cheap Tank did a great job and I sure would be proud if I could do that. But Im not allowed to play with anything sharp. But thanks to Wehrmacht 39 I should have the plastic Tamiya Turrett Shurzen shortly. I saw a pic of the Tamiya Pzr IV and noticed it had the side rails,
mounts/hangers/brackets on it also, but not the side plates.....would someone know if anybody sells
these Tamiya parts tree(s) ?? If I can get these parts maybe sometime down the road I`ll try making the side plates out of styrene.

beesknees i have seen the side scherzen for sale for the pz3 but not the pz4. A little more done i cut the top front of the gearbox to raise it up to a little more corect position and will drill out the bushing holes off center marked in black then solder in place to tighten up the gears.
