HL Tiger mystery holes...
...one on each side, just forward of the frontal armour, and to the rear of the track access panels (?). I can't think of any reason for them other than for attaching accessories-track sections maybe?

RE: HL Tiger mystery holes...
It's where the jib boom could be attached to work on the sprockets.
edit:although this isn't in reference to the holes your inquiring about, here's a great link to Tigers being worked on and transported.

RE: HL Tiger mystery holes...
As dedmonwakin already mentioned it was for mounting a jib boom for sprocket removal

:Smitty, thanks for postin a pic of it.
Looks pretty portable, I wouldn't doubt if that was carried by select few tanks in a convoy.

The jibs where carried by the maintenance section not on the tanks, tanks where already full of the kit they required on a day to day basis

Snake,
I was about to send the pic here to show you what it was used for, but Smittyrob has what I believe is the original use of the pocket. The pic I'm sending is from the book " Tiger Tanks at War" by Michael Green and James D. Brown. While they may have discovered an alternative use ( or just made it up? ) I believe the pic from smitty is correct. Just goes to show, you can't believe everything you read. That's why I'm not a rivet counter. If it looks good to me, atha's all that matters.
