Default Fiberglass copy of 1/16 tamiya sherman body mold

Hi All

I'm normally in warbirds, but i was wondering if there would be any interest in an epoxy glass mold to make most of a Tamiya sherman tank body. I did this when tamiya discontinued the model years ago. Its out again, but If someone would want to make a damaged diorama, they can lay up endless "dummy" sherman bodies. It fits the tamiya frame as shown.

The sherman shown is my tamiya with my glass body. The gun barrel is not glass and the "mantlet" ?? is the factory tamiya assembly. The mantlet can be molded with RTV to reproduce in urethane resin by any one with a bit of research on the net for materials and "how to".

This project would be for one who can work with fiberglass or can learn to do so.

I intend to sell the molds. I have put this here before going to the adds to gauge the interest in such a concept.

You can buy the original for about $12-$15 dollars through Tamiya. About the same for the turret.

With the Matos and older 21st century toys kits out there, Junker hulls became more feasible. I don't see a large market.

Steve,
I still think it's pretty cool and what I could tell from the pics not to bad looking. If you put it on Evil Bay, someone will buy it I'm sure.

Thanks. It was easy, did not have to fly like my composite warbirds. It served its purpose.
ebay is not what it used to be. I loose money on that when people don't follow up on a canceled deal.
