Speaking of rivets this took about 320. My baby has to be the custom Zrinyi I.
It took about 9 months and parts from the Leo and P4 acc. kits to complete.
Definately a labor of love as I really desired to model a truely unique (obscure) subject that is Axis (Hungarian) but not German.

That is terribly, terribly impressive!!!!
Was there a build thread?
AMAZING!

Here is the original conversion thread from a long time ago. After this I rebuilt it again making the turret corrections and another paint job,

YHR,
Thanks again for the info. I think I'll still do the upgrade, but make it a project when I'm waiting on other stuff. I would really hate to just get rid of it.

I would have too say my Tamiya Panther is my favorite build, but my TamLong Tiger is a very close second. I put so much work into this tank, it really meens alot to me that I actually finished it. As far as PanTigers go, they make great Bergepanthers. just need to finish mine.

Here's a few pic's of some of the stuff I have made on the past. This is a bit of an eclectic slideshow and I know that my photography skills aren't the best. Most of the stuff I am proudest of are not entirely 'mainstream' so please lets dispense with the ' put your eyes out comments'
My coolest tanks are the ones that shoot stuff, Here are some pic's of my HL PIV, T-34, and Tam KT with CO2 guns installed.
I like my SU-100 because it was made in a time of the hobby where you didn't have the choice of 30+ tanks and nobody would buy a pre- modified tank.
Finally I am proudest of my early work in developing 3:1 gearboxes. Remember working on these back when the best you could get was a RX 14 board. The olden days. I really hesitate to say I invented them because that's in when a hundred people pipe up and prove that I most obviously didn't, but I was working on them way back when. Others definitely improved on them.

AEC MK.III
A very challenging build. Converting the RC chassis and fitting it all inside the confines was the biggest struggle. I am currently using the drivetrain for an upcoming Staghound. Even more challenging. I guess that's why its sitting up in the rafters.

THAT'S a beautiful thing there. You guys are pretty creative with these armored cars, what a great variety to go with the tanks.

That model certainly sets you apart from the conventional builds. I like the way you think. That has got to be the only model of that tank in the world. That is my goal someday, to have a one of a kind. I think the suspension is wonderful, as is every other detail of your model. The one thing that really caught my attention is the sprocket mud scraper/cleaner rig that I wouldn't bother with normally. My elephant is supposed to have them, but I couldn'r find good photos of the real ones.
Thanks for the build photos, I enjoy seeing work in progress shots before paint covers up all of the work that went into the project. The suspension is cool........For some reason the suspension on French, Italian, Japanese and other Allied orAxis tanks is really starting to interest me in how complicated and sometimes delicate they are. That makes them hard to duplicate in 1/16th scale. I know what you went thru on the rivets/bolts. I swore I would never do anything with more than 6 rivets after my M3 Lee gave me brain damage. My Lee is not R/C, but now that the Mato VVSS Sherman is out, I may get one to cannabalize for the parts to make mine R/C. If the Mato tranny gear clearance will work in a bolted 3 piece tranny cover. I dunno................

Hi all
This has been my most satisfying build to date. It's not quite finished, but I'm very pleased with how she's turned out, especially the working winch/dozer blade.

Rex you must make that R/C! A DAK member is assembling an M-3 now and I hope the MATO is a good starting point!

By accident, the track width and overall length of my scratchbuilt M3 is exactly the same as the Mato Sherman. I can't believe I got that right. I can change frames and whatever to the earlier type suspension of the M3. The track and outside guide horns was the key. I'll figure out a sprocket drive somehow. I've rigged up Mickey Mouse gear trains before.
I built that Lee years ago....I'm sure Mato (or somebody) will come out with one soon (just to tick me off). The reason I never painted it is because I also built an interchangeable Grant turret. I can't decide how to paint it to be accurate for an American version and a British version. I like the British Caunter camo scheme, but that wasn't used by the USA. A plain desert sand paint job just doesn't interest me much.

Can't really tell from the pics, but did you manage to maintain recoil?
