Disabling HL Tiger 1 body recoil?
Is it feasible? Of all the functions on my tank the over-exaggerated body recoil is the least realistic, to the point of annoyance. Is there a remedy?
Thanks.

Yes there are two options
1) http://www.welshdragonmodels.co.uk/t...oard-867-p.asp
2) DBC/DBU from http://rctankwars.com/
option one, If I recall some members have used this, the cheaper route, but I can't comment on how well it works.
option two, This is a battle system that is compatible with the Tamiya system. More expensive, but it creates inertia effect with the tank, meaning the tank starts out slow then builds up speed, also slows the tank down when stopping, more realistic, not just a sudden stop. Also has firing and hit sounds, and you can disable the recoil. Plus Phil who runs rctankwars is a real contributor to this hobby and his customer service is top notch. Oops almost forgot, you can still use the Heng Long transmitter with this or with the other version, (DBCRC2) you can use an aftermarket transmitter.
hope this helps.

A third option is to make a recoil blocker yourself.
Details on how to can be found here: http://www.hobbyhavoc.com/forum/index.php?topic=1559.0

RE: Disabling HL Tiger 1 body recoil?
Hi
The ARM unit from Welsh-Dragon and other suppliers works with the airsoft versions perfectly. I have one fitted and it makes a huge improvement as I never liked the recoil - the standard HL recoil makes the tank jump like a demented frog on acid in my opinion
cheers

Hi Jim
If I remember correctly the instructions were in German but had plenty pictures so were not a problem. It was a while back I fitted mine but if you go for it and are not sure let me know and I will take a look inside my own tank to jog the old memory and should be able to help you out.
cheers

Hi Shenloco
WelshDragon will post to you in the US and from what others have said on the forum from your side of the pond, the rates for postage are good and things get shipped fast. If you cannot get one Stateside it is worth considering using them.
cheers

RE: Disabling HL Tiger 1 body recoil?
Hi
I don't have a DBU system fitted, only the recoil blocker. I should not see a problem though with keeping the flash as all the ARM module does is block power to the motors when you press the fire button. The flash and sounds should still come out when you fire.
cheers

The DBU system has the recoil blocking built into its system. That is on of its best functions, I believe.

I think that was one of the best tutorials I have ever seen. Very clear pics and great description. I may just crack the old Mk III open and give her a try.

Greetings all. Back into HL tanks after a looong hiatus--I think the problem was AMS (Advanced Modeler Syndrome); had my tank (old Snow Leopard) dismantled for cosmetic improvements for so long, just lost interest in it. But I digress.
Most of these links are disabled or no longer link to what they were linked to. Did find this one: http://www.rc-panzerketten-forum.com...threadid=30187
Has anyone tried it?

See the part labeled "E" here. On our tanks if you just disconnect this connector it will not do a track recoil. On an airsoft version there will be two wires coming down off a contact switch on the airsoft unit. This plugs directly into plug E. Just remove it and you will have no track recoil
On the IR version there will be a 5 wire plug going there, but there will be a 3+2 a bit up the cord if you follow it up in the same position. Unplug that 2 wire connector but leave the 5 pin plug connected.
Thats it On the HL system it will be very close to this.

Our tanks have the recoil in the track as well as recoil in the barrel for IR models. The track recoil disabling has been asked more than a few times from IR battlers. Most know you can just remove this cord, but the new guys don't yet. You can also permanently disable it by removing the contact switch on the firing unit that goes to the port. I of course am always happy to help with this mod.
