Taigen Tiger Review?

Has anyone seen a review of these Taigen "Metal"Tigers?

Like this one: http://www.superwings.co.uk/Taigen_A...1_2954905.aspx

because they are very reasonable in price and Iwas wondering just how "metallic"they are?

Tank looks good, but write-up looks Chinese. Price isn't so bad, but then factor in shipping from UK..[:@]

Hmmmm

Judging by that picture....its a bloody cheap way of getting metal tracks, running gear, hull, and paint job for a way lot less than buying the tabk and all the bits separately?

I wonder when someone in the US is going to start selling these?

It is obviously built using Asiatam parts. It also does seem to be a cost effective way to get an HL tank with what I consider a Must have improvement on the HL line.<div> All these upgrades are packaged in a complete unit, which is by far more practical than buying and installing all the components at varying prices and helps cut down on numerous shipping costs and the inevitable delays we all know happen.</div>

Heres a few links and prices:

http://www.********.it/taigen-advanc...panzer-iv.html 154 euros Panzer IV

http://www.********.nl/taigen-advanc...panzer-iv.html 149 euros Panzer IV

http://www.rcmodelsplus.co.uk/taigen..._panzer_1v.htm 119 pounds ( 133 euros) Panzer IV

http://www.********.ie/taigen-advanc...reen-camo.html Tiger 214 euros

Video of the Taigen Tiger (seems they fixed the annoying popping out of the upper hull lug from the asiatam receiver slot.

Seems to be cheaper to buy the Panzer at least from Britain.

Here's some information on who Taigen is:

Here's a review of the PzIV:

http://rctankhq.com/panzerforum/index.php?topic=2286.0

The PzIV was a bit disappointing to me. It appears that Taigen has access to the same manufacturer as AsiaTam (or is the same manufacturer), but the Taigen PzIVdidn't include all of the same metal upgrades available as AsiaTam has. That said, if someone gets the Taigen Tiger, I'd love to see a review of it. I'm interested mostly as a cheaper way to get the lower hull, center headlight and electronics. The gearboxes are the early AsiaTam 3:1s and the main gun still needs to be corrected. Not to mention that I'd prefer a mid-production with the metal roadwheels with rubber tires on them. Either way, a review would be awesome if you get it.

Well there are some problems with who is the actuall manufacturer. Asiatam is a brand, not a manufacturer. Tiagen is a brand also.<div>Guess who is the real manufacturer. :)</div>

Since you went there...Heng Long. I'd heard that somewhere else, but was going to leave it alone for now. http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/js/f...unge_smile.gif

I'd love to see the Taigen brand expand since it's prices are much better than AsiaTam (which is the reason that I heard for Heng Long creating the Taigen brand).

It looks like it has the old HL half-recoil barrel.

Yeah, I'm not sure who actually created the Taigen brand. The HL/Asiatam thing is also not been proved one way or the other, but think about it. The parts are all so similar from brand to brand with most only having slight differences. Do you think they could do this without proper licensing. I don't know. They may have very different laws on the subject that we have. It is all speculation as far as I'm concerned since no one has been able to confirm or deny it.
Doesn't really matter, the point being it is still a good option for someone who wants the bennifit of the upgrades with out going through all the time and work of doing it themselves.
Not everyone is comfortable hacking their tanks apart like I am to upgreade or mod something.
They look pretty good too. Much better than the stock HL paint jobs. That alone can draw many new customers into the hobby.

No argument there...just hoping Taigen will expand their offerings some.

it would be nice if they did an early tiger with no zimmerit.

As far as I can see it is an Asiatam hull

Reviving an older thread that I found on a search.

I was interested in this due to the steel wheels, zimmerit, later commanders coupala, spare track mounts on the turret and the single headlight.

I purchased one of these several months ago. You can buy them confidently through amazon for $259.00 + $28.99 shipping. If your looking for a U.S. supplier, you now have one. Here's the link.

If anyone needs any info on the tank, just ask.
