MY "CATS"...

1. BERGEPANTHER just to share my first attempt to convert... I started with non-correct HL Panther (old type)...readiness of the model 60%... |
RE: MY "CATS"...
Good start.
|
RE: MY "CATS"...
Looking good. It would still work as the Wehrmacht was using anything they could get toward the end of the war and modifying or converting a vehicle was a daily task.
|
RE: MY "CATS"...
according to the legend IT would be captred by FSSF, so here is the FSSF granade launcher...
it is a attempt conversion of sniper-toy-soldier, please be merciful... :) http://www.d-i-m.su/forum/attachment...p;d=1262456454 http://www.d-i-m.su/forum/attachment...p;d=1262456459 <br type="_moz" /> |
RE: MY "CATS"...
Soldier looks good to me. I presume the winch in the Berg works. I see the motor. We'll need the Berg if I bring my Jagdtiger to Kubinka in summer.
|
RE: MY "CATS"...
Bob,<div>the winch does work... I will upload the video soon, with winch working...</div><div>waiting for the 3:1 gear to make it moving more or less real... </div>

HAL, check it out, some Russians got a hold of my TIGER!! Look what they did to it!

RE: MY
ORIGINAL: RSEA HAL, check it out, some Russians got a hold of my TIGER!! Look what they did to it! I plan to do the same with Tamiya one. This was in December 1943, done by 29 guardia tank Brigade, Belorussian front, with one ofthe tabks 507th Heavy Tank Battalion... Awesome model!!! |
RE: MY
Yes HAL, that is the tank I had in mind from December 43. I read that it was captured in late December, and then used in combat 4 days or so later in early January 44. I also was given a reference to another Tiger that was captured and used in combat by the Russians during July 44. I think it would look better where your at, where I am there is no snow.. I think white tanks look out of place if they are not in a snowy environment.
Your Berg is looking good HAL! |

Hey Hal;
Dont foget the FSSF was also made up of Canadian also - so maybe it was a Canadian FSSF that captured the tank! |

Very well done, Hal. The mud on the back and sides is an often missed touch for authentic weathering. Excellent Cat!

The legend behind the scene: this is a try to reinstate 34thtank, 1st company, 502 Heavy Tank Battalion. Period covered - may-june 1943 Place: Eastern front, Leningrad. The whole model was reconstructed using manuals and dairies of 502-nd HTB and also testimonials of people from Leningrad, that faced these "cats". |
RE: MY
It looks so good. I just got some MIG products myself and started the mudding. I'm looking this way (you're tank for reference)
|
RE: MY
That's a hell of a job on that Tiger! Really rough and mean looking.
Great job! Did you hand paint the mammoth or are those decals? If so, I could really use some direction on where to find some Pz.Abt 502 decals. |

Hal, Were the decals from mato listed as upgrade parts. I don't remember seeing any as I am looking for some good decals without spending $20-$30 for the decals with shipping. Jim |

RE: MY
Guys, have just started the new project... This TANK was never designed or even drawn.I only assume that IT could be in thoughts of German tank-builders, that is why I call it a German Heavy Tank DW-II(H3) from their dream or fairy-tale... But frankly I like it very much, the design and the parameters... I call it "<span style="font-size: x-small"><span style="font-family: Arial"><span style="line-height: 115%">“N</span><span style="line-height: 115%">ä</span><span style="line-height: 115%">chtJ</span><span style="line-height: 115%">ä</span><span style="line-height: 115%">ger” or "Night Hunter"</span></span></span> I assume that if ithave been built itwould be: 1. Weight -55-60 tonns in real, 2. 80 mm armor in the turret - 100 mm armor from the front, 3. equipped with KwK36 (88mm) gun, two machine guns (MG-34 *2(7,92mm)) 4. anti-aircraft missile system "LuftFaust-B" 5.night vision system "Infrarot-Scheinwerfer"... Some photos of started work are being prepared... I am in the very bebinning of the way...</p> |
RE: MY
HAL - I like your 502 Tiger! Great job!
|
RE: MY
Just a NOTE... while building "NightHunter" I had to re=design several things on the body: the turret is too big for H-body. I removed zip-box to the rear, the viewing apertures for driver and radioman from the front, changed the transport cables... etc Pics are to come soon...</p> |
