Yes, I saw you had the same thing happen to you. Its such a shallow socket head to be running 25mm length.
My brother ordered 12 new heavy duty bolts so we will be replacing all of ours.
Dunno which brand he got, but he said it was tuff.
Also, my brothers kit was missing some parts for the center diff. A pin and some small pieces it was...
Mine might be missing also but I havent gotten that far. ...

ORIGINAL: Eman77

I stripped mine too (might have said so early in this build thread). If you get replacement ones and use a dab of grease on the tip, it helps a lot. I can't recall the replacement screws I used that worked ok - I think they are RcScrewz brand. I like their stuff.

Interesting on the missing parts. Mine definitely wasn't missing any parts.

Check the other bags for the missing parts. Unfortunately Tamiya does not package everything where it is suppose to and makes the most sense. Very common to include parts of the same letter step in the manual inside other bags. I thought of the same thing (frustrated) until I realized that the parts were there. I knew that going in my second build so I looked for the parts in the other bags.

Got the kit finished ... no parts were missing in the Tamiya kit. I had to use a few of my own screws on the conversion kit. I dont know why they were not included.
Heres some pictures:

The RC-Monster motor mount looks great, but I'm not sold on the battery box. It looks smaller than the one from RC Product Designs. Does anybody have a photo of the motor mount from RC Product Designs?

I'm considering only buying a motor mount, modifying the stock, carbon fiber servo plate, and then sourcing my own battery tray.

Thank you!

I'm starting to lean towards the RC-Monster kit because I prefer the pivot style motor mount as well as not having the ESC up on that shelf. The RPD battery box looks better though and larger and they also include that second center diff mount.

Do you know the internal dimensions of the RCPD battery box, battery portion only?

Yes, the RCPD battery box (internal) is about 50 x 170 mm. (give or take a few).

There's also a little "bumped out" area at the end that makes it a bit wider there. I have a 4s pack in mine, and I put some foam blocks to keep it tight in there (no rattling), since there's plenty of room. The downside is that ESC shelf, but I guess the extra battery space makes up for it?

I didn't realize the RCM mount pivoted. Drat, now I want that again.

Can you be more specific? I'm not sure what you mean - I don't have that conversion kit, but perhaps some pics would help?

Hey, welcome! Sure, share pics - I always like to see others' builds, and especially what wheels/tires they went with and how they like 'em.

well, from what I saw there is now antenna tube mount. But I just happen to have a piece that did fix it. I put a hole in the rx lid and then put a antenna tube mount on.

Very nice Quick!

That looks great! The more I think about it, the more I'm leaning towards buying the RC-Monster kit and being done with it. I could probably piece it together for cheaper, but I don't want to drill my chassis.

Thats what I did. I picked up the truck from tamiyausa.com for 99 and then the rc-monster kit for 100. For $200 for a nice e-truggy... You cant beat that. I ordered the truck and the kit at the same time so I could have it during the build. It went together nicely.

Thanks timber...i did notice that after running it a while that the rear cvd's seem to pop out of the drive cups when under power in a tight turn...tried adjusting them as far in as i could but they still do it....just a heads up for you...other than that a few more tweaks and its good to go...
