What Engine For a Truggy
Ihave decided to break into the Truggy racing scene. Iwill use it once in a while to play with but the primary use will be to race. What would be a decent motor to use in an Xray XT8 or a Team losi 8ight-t 2.0 race roller?

Werks B5 with 2058 pipe from www.towerhobbies.com. Tower is cheapest because they have huge discount codes. Get your total to over 300 bucks and you save 75 bucks.. I.e., for 225ish before shipping, you get the engine, pipe, and a couple plugs or whatever.. Unbeatable deal. Engine has a great rep too.

jammin JPX 21 is a great engine, but believe its discontinued,
another great engine to look at is the Arrow 21, its like a vspec but better IMHO.http://www.hobbyprousa.com/engines/arrow.html

RE: What Engine For a Truggy
Thanks for all the help people. My lhs closed it's doors last year and I keep in touch with the owner. He is selling me a Jammin X1-CRTthat has never seen the dirt with a Picco .28 with 4 tanks through it for $250.00. Iplan to use the X1 for bashing and practiceandwill get the Xray or losi fora race dedicatedunit. Would the Picco .28 make a better basher or a better racer?

28 is for bashing, its way to much for racing... a good 21 will kill a 28 in racing any day... the alpha 23 is great for truggy but that has more power than anyone can use.

RE: What Engine For a Truggy
we run both the 2058 and the 2013 in Truggy...it just depends on the track layout and the drivers style...on the 2058 the bottom is softened, but it has a stronger midrange and top end and in general is faster....the 2013 has more bottom, but gives away mid and top to the 2058...most people would prefer the 2013 I would think...
here is a video of a Clocked B5 on a 2058, this setup was netting us 14 minutes on this track at this pace !
