Default ZD RACING ZRT-1 TRUGGY OFFICIAL THREAD

I just bought one of these and wanted to get a thread going. its pretty sick. The Truggy looks well built. all grade 8 hex head cap screws and countersunk cap screws. 16mm big bore shocks. Aluminum caps. Easy diff drain and fill fluid cap on diffs. looks pretty damn good. It comes with a 120amp esc and 2 i think there 2s 4000 mah batterie lipos.

Default RE: ZD RACING ZRT-1 TRUGGY OFFICIAL THREAD

I just picked one of these up recently and can't figure out how to program the ESC. Is there supposed to be a programming card? I got it used...so no clue how to do it. It came with a Spektrum radio...the DX3.0. What I need to change is the braking. As soon as I apply the brakes...it basically goes into reverse.

ANY HELP would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

No one else is on this thread? I was possibly going to trade for one but can't find much parts support and not many reviews if really any at all.

i have one ... once I worked out every flaw and got rid of stock ESC and motor, it became a real beast....all the parts are on ebay...as far as real reviews, people that race RC's are not going to go with ZD brand if you can add couple 100$ 's more to buy a known proven brand.

here is a pic of mine.

I just wanted to update my first impressions from when I first started using the ZRT-1 Truggy. I had gotten three of them on eBay @ ridiculously low price (just over $100) when they were in the "promoting the brand" stage of the truggy. The first one was for daily use and the other two for spares. They are a really good truggy for the most part, then one main part keeps having issues. The front universal drive shafts are weak or the steel used to make them is not of good quality. 'Cause after replacing 10 ~ 15 universal joints in a short & long period of time, I have come to the conclusion that the shafts were not going to improve in quality.

Everything else about the truggy was solid! It has taken 4~5 foot high off center landings/beatings, and survive repetitive cartwheels. Just everyday normal turning, and no crashing, snaps them shafts. I even took the front drive line out of the equation; locked the center diff; made the truggy 2wd. That didn't work. The ZRT-1 just became a handful to control in dirt with only rear wheel drive.

Anyway...I got rid of all three on eBay, and almost doubled my money back. All in all, the ZRT-1 was way too fast; way to big, and had a long way to go with one single part. I know parts wear out, but it was a pain to see so much time wasted wrenching on the truggy compared to the time on the track. I would still own a ZD Racing product if that "weak link" issue could be resolved.
