Hey Guys,
I have noticed that on the Nitro Star K4.6 HO engine, the throttle linkage connection is on the left hand side, which fits the Hellfire. Most other engines out there have it on the right hand side. I am keen to buy an STS .28 but i'm not sure how i can attach the linkage???
Can i just turn the carb around 180 degrees and then adjust the positioning of the intake and linkage mount?

loosen the screw. take the carb out. turn the carb to the angle you need it to sit in the crank case. put the carb back in. tighten it back up. peace

i use a roto start and like it. got one on all my toys. bump starts r good to just never used em. i just got the hellfire and the first thing i did was pull out the engine and put in a roto start. i dont mind pull starts on the smaller engines but i hate gettin those damn blisters on my hand after a day of rippin that pullstart.[:@]

Bump start engines generally have higher HP and higher RPM's due to less internal hardware. You do have to carry the starter box with you though. The nice thing is you dont have to worry about breaking OWB or pull start cords.
When you adjust the carb put a small bead of high temp silicone sealant around the lip before you reinstall it. It will help prevent any air leaks.
I would go with an LRP or OS engine over the K4.6 The HPI engines are good but you'll get more for your money out of the other two.

if the savage wheels have a 17mm hex on the back of the wheel they will fit. here a 1/2" offset wheel. peace

sorry for repeating this. but i need to get an answer kinda quick. i could possible be picking up the os 30vg. so the o.s 30vg has three different version. do they share the same mounting position using the hellfire mounts? if i was to get one that was on a savage would it mount correctly? thanks peace

Has anyone used a sealant to seal their Diffs? I have installed my front and rear diffs and built everything else around them. I installed my centre diff and about a week later there was a small pool of oil under the car. Now i'm worried my front and rear have done the same, but i can't tell since they are enclosed.
I have since pulled the centre diff apart and put a gasket sealant on both sides of the metal gasket. Has anyone else had the same issue? Any good solutions? I can't imagine how bad it could get once the car is running!!!

I went out today with my HF and os 28 for some speed runs. Got up to 56 mphr (90k/hr) using a 17 t cb and 100k fluid in the center diff. With a 14 t cb and the 100k center it was crazy torque and lifting the front end on the slightest bump. Great fun.

Is there any way to tell if the front or back diffs are leaking without physically pulling them out? I was hoping there might be a tell-tale sign or position, where you can see it drooling out of the casing???
To remove the fornt and back diffs, can i just remove the shock mount tower and the other bits and pieces that sit over them and then slide them out? Or is it a major hassle where i need to remove all of the steering gear aswell?
This is a pic of the beast now. Got a good idea for paint job too!!!

You will usually get oil around the outdrives/dogbones to each wheel when you have been driving it but when its new and unused like yors?
To get the diffs out remove the 2 screws from the bottom of the skid plate and then the 2 screws holding the purple suspension mount, then the 4 screws above holding the bulkhead. The diffs then slide out. Only takes 5 mins to remove diff and front and back remove the same way.
Remember to shim the diffs (pinion/crown) or they will wear out very very quickly. Also replace any worn bearings on the pinion.
Iam keen to break in my 5 port bump start sts28. Should have really good power but quality could be an issue.

so... after finding out what engines size i could use in my hellfire to race in the truggy class at the local track.(.28) i decided to use the stock engine. reason i was searching for a engine was the k4.6ho had no pinch what so ever, causing blow by. so i sent the p/s off to rayaracing to have the sleeve repinched and head reconditioned. thanks peace

This may be a dumb question, but i'm not keen to do the wrong thing and ruin my clutch.
I am trying to tighten the screw that holds the Bel housing in position over the clutch shoes. The instructions say "Depending on the engine you use, you might need to adjust the amount of washers to ensure the bell housing still rotates smoothly." I am using a STS .28
Whenever i tighten the screw into the end of the shaft, no matter what combination of washers i use, the bell housing gets stuck and won't rotate. When i loosen the screw, the bell housing can turn no problem.
Can anyone shed some light on the situation? Maybe i'm doing something wrong?

Are you using the 3 washers that are shown in that diagram? You made need to take one or two of them out. There should be a little play in the CB. If there are too many washers its going to tighten down directly on the bearing.
