Very impressive Truggy. Looks rock solid. Let's see if these pics load.

Only real issue is which 6.0V ni-mh pack will fit in the receiver/battery box with my JR receiver. 4 cell pack is a tight fit.

Body came completely pre-cut with all holes including antenna and window cut out. Steering servo seems like it has some good torque and that's only on the four duracell batts. Should be well improved with a 6.0v. Antenna tube is a bit skinny for the hole. A small drop of CA should keep it from coming out.

Nice pipe with TeamVTX (Nice touch). Love the throttle/brake controls with easy adjustment. Pre-installed throttle return spring. On/off switched is covered to prevent shorting. Need to mark which way is on.

Took a picture of the rear chassis brace. Includes one for the front as well as sway bars. Nice.. I like the torque starter. I have always been a starter box guy but this is a nice option. Fortunately, I have (2) new 2400 packs with tamiya plugs so I am set. Charge them both and they should last all day.

Orginally, I bought this for my son as I was waiting for the Losi Truggy to come out, however I may just buy another one.. Very impressive. Hopefully, this will carry over to the track. Will post more during break in and first runs.

Some great set up tips on www.teamvtx.com. Same setup as their Nationals truck for diffs and shock oil and ride height.

Yes, it does look nice. Personally, if you think it looks good in those pictures, it looks even better in person.

For you guys that worry about those flimsy looking shock towers, buy one of each, cut the shock mounting positions on the currently mounted one off, and screw this second one on over it. Use a screw and a nut to secure the bottom of the new shock tower to the mounted one. This way, you'll have a 4mm shock tower, with a higher shock mounting, so you can set the ride height lower.

Quote from Greg him self:
"I used two rear shock towers to make one, I cut the shock holes off one tower and bolted them on another tower at about 45 degrees in order to get a higher shock hole position for the rear."

A standard 5 cell hump pack will fit in the box. How do you like your truck so far?

they aren't flimsy, the only reason he did that was to get that higher position.

oh and btw, mine is on the way.

2mm shock towers not flimsy?. ya right. let's see you run it with the stock towers and see how long they last.

Well I just got back from the LHS, and they stopped stocking them. You know why? The stock engine was blowing up, during break-in. They got sick of it, and sent the rest away. Might want to consider a back-up engine.

if your lhs knew what they were doing, it would have lived . From what I was told, it was made by Go engines.

We've ran one tank through the engine so far. Fired right up with no problems. Kept a fan over the head to keep it cool. Raytek temp gun took a dump on me so I had to order another. Will wait till it arrives tomorrow before we run a another tank through it. Of course my son wants to drive it already. Much too loud for our neighborhood. Saw the post above about the engines. We'll have to keep an eye on it. If you break them in correctly and run them rich for the first several tanks, you should not have a problem. Break them in correctly, don't run them too lean and they should last a long time. TeamVTX has been great thus far answering my questions on their website. Look forward to tweaking some of the set up to their specifications.

Torque starter is great for recreational use. Probably a bit cumbersome if you are thinking about racing. We'll have to see when we get the body on how difficult it is to line up the shaft.

Tech 5 - Thanks for the info on the 5cell hump pack. I figured it would fit, just wanted to be sure. I am thinking of running either a "y" harness or the plug outside the receiver box so I do not have to open to recharge the battery. We love the truck and are very impressed. Well worth the money thus far. Looks like weather will prevent us from running it this weekend but I'll keep you posted.

Kemo, those guys are professionals. They know what they are doing. They've driven just about every vehicle out there. This isn't a hobby shops with kids acting like they know everything. No, these guys are good.

Anyone that visited TNT Hobbies can say the same

Not only that, these "Go" engines are made by Vertex in Taiwan...it doesn't surprise me that they're having problems out of them one bit.

truck itself looks nice though.

then why does this engine look EXACTLY like the Vertex .21 that comes in Himoto and Redcat 1/8 buggies? the head is identical, the crankcase is identical, the carb looks VERY similar...
