Thanks i will check the diffs. The diff oil you recomend,is that a good set up for bashing?I wont be racing only bashing and i am thinking about getting the badlands that are pictured a few posts back.I have the mashers on the way but i am tempted by the badlands instead but you cant get them in the uk yet.Changed my mind now about the tyres again.I went down to the shed and got my old 2.5 jato rear wheels and tyres out and they look real good fitted.I have just ordered another set so obviously i will have all four. Not sure how the grip is going to be but they certanly look good

Mine is also fine and with a few fixing on the tank it doesn't leak any more
Just waiting that we finish the rebuild of our track to run it more and more .
Soon will get also a new SH engine and a starter box to have a little more power ...

Yep , it doesn't look too good, look's like a piece af metal got caught between the exhaust port and the piston,i would open the engine and check that the bearings didn't blow out .
Have you ever tried to lock the piston by the exhaust port in order to unscrew the flywheel ? I have seen that being done before and it also leaves those marks on the piston .
What starter box are you getting ?
I guess that you also have the RTR version ? how much fuel have you been through with the engine ? Mine has seen about 1/2 a gallon or even less and the piston has almost no pinch at all any more .

Well got the JP 5 exhaust for my .5, gonna try it out tomorrow and will report on this engine and exhaust.
Done around 10 - 12 tanks through this engine at the moment, and its time to start leaning it out and seeing what it can really do. But OMG this thing can really handle, if the shocks are set up right, they glide over the bumps, and absoloutely fly through the corners.!

I just got the engine used for a good price. It is a O.S 18tz and it is supposed to have less than a gallon on it. I have no idea of what the previous owner did to it. I am getting the Ofna mini starter box.

Yep , i saw after that it was a OS engine (the carb is particular) ,i would say that it has seen a screwdriver or else through the exhaust port to lock the piston in order to take of the previous flywheel .That's a typical beginner's mistake it can harm the engine a ruin the sleeve and piston but if your engine is running fine like that i would leave it and get a new sleeve and piston as soon as a rebuild feel's needed .
I am getting also that starter box as it seems the best way to start any engines on the CRT5 but for the engine i will go for a SH gold head 12 ,as i allready have a OS18TZ in my RC10GT and it makes the car so stupid fast that i don't want to make the CRT5 undriveable

I'm thinking about getting the small Ofna .5 starter box.
Will my extended chassis .5 fit on the starterbox properly?

RE: Official Thread for X1 CRT .5 Truggy
I was just wondering if anyone does any hard bashing with their crt.5s. How durable are these little things? Are they nearly as tough as their bigger brothers(crt)? Can they handle the big spills and rough stuff?

RE: Official Thread for X1 CRT .5 Truggy
So ,i was about to get a SH12 turbo from china along with a starter box but a quick check on tower hobbies web site and i found out that with a 20$ coupon i could get a OS18TZ and a the mini ofna starer box for cheaper ,i allready have a 18TZ in my RC10 GT so as i know how easy they are to tune and how reliable they run i went for that .Can't wait to get that engine in my 5 ,i guess that it will be stupid fast so i will have to get a 15 clutch bell ...

RE: Official Thread for X1 CRT .5 Truggy
I have the RTR version and i have never seen any cars so reliable , never broke anything and the only issue i got on the track was running away kingpin screw /a little thread lock fixed it in a few minutes)
Now i am updating the engine to a OS18TZ to have much more power and to be able to wash away thoses 1/8 buggys .

I think you could get the mini starter box to work on the extended chassis but it will be close I just got my starter box and it works kinda hard to turn over the O.S 18tz but it runs good so far. I will know more tomorrow night.
