mines running around 250 to 260 i got 14 tanks on it. it it normal to have very little pinch on this engine when cold with no glow plug in? with the plug in the compression is still very tight, i heat cycled the engine for 11 tanks with temps around 220 then shut down to cool. also what glow plug are you guys running

Yes it is normal to have very little pinch. As long as you have good compression you will be good. It is kinda odd that you heat cycled the motor for 11 tanks. Usually you only do that for the first tank or too then start giving gradual throttle every tank after that. Actually thunder tiger recommends that you just go and run the engine like normal with short bursts of wide open throttle for the first 5 tanks. 11 tanks is over doing it because you dont give the rod a chance to stretch.

i was driving by the 3rd tank, i kept it at 220 till the tank was empty, let it cool and started over, did'nt start leaning out till tank 11. maybe a little overkill but this is the first engine i did by myself. did'nt want to burn it up

Oh ok. You can really start getting on it to get it to come alive. Lean it out, get temps up to about 260 and let r rip. They say it takes a bit for these to really wake up.

Thats the last thing I have to do. I need to do some more reading to see what the hot set up is.

for breakin i always have a gallon of fuel with a little more oil for breakin . i use klotz caster oil and add a few capfulls per gallon. this is only for breakin because caster oil will make the engine run hotter, good for breakin and getting up to temps faster and getting the pinch perfect. but if you do just run 2 tanks of extra oil with caster oil or it will over heat the engine and damage it.
