Default TT St-1 , questions

Hey guys , I know theres a whole topic solely for talking about the St-1 but Im looking at buying one for racing and was wondering how they do stock wise as track performers?

Also What upgrades do you suggest I order with it , I was going to order a Spektrum Dx-2.0 off ebay and replace the radio equipment
And I dont really like the body and was wondering if you could link some that fit. Thanks

i have an st-1 RTR. out the box, the radio should be upgraded. the stock servos are strong but are a little on the slow side. other than that, it's not much on this truck that needs to be upgraded. it's a tank out the box. for a body, check out the mugen crowd pleazer bodies, or the jconcepts illuzion body for the kyosho st-r fits perfectly (i have the kyosho illuzion on mine.)

if your going to upgrade to a spectrum then you might as well just get a 8ight T. they come RTR with the spectrum and i guess they are completely race ready right out of the box. i think they are right around $600 RTR. im probably going to get one after christmas if i dont get one for christmas.

he was asking about the st-1 NOT the 8t. if you can't help don't post.

thunderwood93 the jconcepts body for the mgen fits the st-1. i put the futaba fasst system in mine and i like it. it's under $200. the only upgrades i would get are a set of wheels and tires.

I can get one for 100$ off ebay why would I spend the extra 300$ , Plus my parents wont spend it beacuse my bro wants a savage =/

So Would the St-1 keep up with the 8ight-t's , do they make good track cars?

Or if threres a better truggy out there in the 300-400$ range please link it

Edit- I dident see your post I think the olny thing im going to ask for with it is , Another fuel bottle (Axial one holds topfuel =P)
Wing , Body and tires and spektrum system

Also How fast is this thing out of the box j/w I couldent find it anywhere , and what fuel should I run Ive been thinking Odonald (sorry for misspelling if I did) beacuse Ive heard great things about it

If you read the manual and learn how to tune the suspension with that manual yes. It has more to do with the driver and setup not really the truck. They are all basically the same. They all have 4 ends of suspension, .21-.32 motors, with 3 differentials, and sit on a flat chassis.

Thanks I should have factored in driver skill as well, but some have more tuning options then others.

St-1s have a ton of tuning options. There are more things you can change then i care to mess with. And they are plenty fast out of the box, top speed is probably a little over 40 mph.

you only need this
http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...oducts_id/4897
not this
http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...oducts_id/4930

oh and for the reciever pack you should look for a different one because for $22 you could get one that has quite a bit more than 1100mah

I raced a ST-1 most of this season. You will need these items.

* Stronger and faster steering servo
* Half-offset rims. Will make truck more stable.
* Red aluminum front/rear brace
* Red aluminum rear/front brace
* Steering mod is optional. I did fine without it
* The stock .28 is a good engine. With correct tune it will work just fine.

Amainhobbies has all you need under the hop up section. TTR parts are very affordable.

It already comes with offset wheels! No need to buy wheels unless you want dish wheels. The older version of the st1 had the regular wheels.

What do you mean reviews on a main. For what the st1. There was 1 bad review and that was the first review. All the rest have been great. The st1 is a tank. It would take alot of abuse to break it.
