That price has to be MSRP though. I don't think I'd pay half of that advertised price for it.

MSRP = Manufacturer Suggested Retail Price.

Hardly anyone goes by them.

You could get a new one for what, $400 on e bay.?

pro's and con's please. looking for a good truggy for moderate bashing and maybe racing. thanks
Apparently it comes with an engine that blows up and the radio gear sucks. You get what you pay for.
you have a nitrage which engine blew up?

and 'radio gear sucks' means? that it's sucking? sucking what?

it'll really be more helpful if it was more objective and to the point. i have to agree the stock radio gear 'sucks' - looks wise. performance wise i cant say but i'll find out soon (another nitrage on the way). in any case anyone looking into nitro truggies SHOULD have their own preferred radio gear - and ditch the stock tamiya radio if it really 'sucks'.

Firstly before you say ' an engine that blows up '

Throw 10 gallons through it, run the heck out of it, change it from 16% to 30%, and tell me that wont ' affect ' the engine.

And about the radio, like some of the trucks out there come with anything better.!?

Its similar to the one you get with the mighty savage...

And it comes with a fail safe that actually works built into the radio.!

@ Th3pwn3r

How is YOUR Nitrage going.?

Care to answer...

gonna sidetrack you from this current topic.

but before i do, here's my two cents. just another litre or so thru my nitrage. it's got it's faults but it's fun to drive. there maybe better truggys out there but the nitrage appealed to me due to the enclosed gearboxes.

the steering throw is a bit narrow but i can live with that for the time-being.

if i had not bought the nitrage the ofna/ho bao hyper st rtr would have been my purchase but it's not popular here in hong kong for some reason - spares wud have been a problem.

anybody know the result of a bad adjusted slipper clutch. i bought the nitrage kit and driving it, it seems sluggish on initial acceleration. could this be due to badly assembled slipper clutch, poor choice of oil weight in centre diff or can anybody suggest another reason. my nitrage runs very nicely otherwise.

bought the two speed but will waiting till i have done more litres. wats so bad about the stock tires? are proline crimefighters far better and why?

the plastic pipe looks gay and sounds cruddy! does the jammin' jp-4 pipe make the power much better and how is the singing of this pipe?

thanks in advance for answering my queries.

cheers

Can anyone compare this to the Thunder Tiger ST-1? Someone who has both, not just driven both as people still are biased if they have one or the other

well i dont know what you did 2 your nitrage but mine still beats my 2 speed t-maxx3.3 with a picco.26 and my mates hpi rs4 evo 3 with a picco.26 in it as well its an amxazing truck once you upgrade the exhaust

^^^^thats a lie. there is no way a stock nitrage is going to beat either of those, even with a better pipe. joell, you are completely biased. i can see it in other posts, u were just wondering why your cooling head exploded a few days ago, how the heck was that your fault? that is just a manufactures defect right there. how much is tamiya paying you?

there is no way that your nitrage stock at that can beat the hpi rs4 with the picco. unless who ever your racing can not tune a engine

I cant really see the appeal of "the closed gearboxes" on the Nitrage...on my buggy and Truggy I have never replace a CB or spur because of damage caused by them being "not enclosed" and if you cant set gear mesh then you shouldnt be in this hobby...[X(]
I would rather have the option of buying any CB I want rather than only Tamiyas...[:'(]

The truck is overall poor value IMO

EDIT: Oh yea and try finding parts for it...[&:]

wouldnt waist my time. its funny that out of hundreds of people on rcuniverse that only 4 people tops even have the nitrage. tells you how good they really are. for 400 to 500 bucks you can get something far superior to the nitrage imo

nitrage just isn't a smart option in US, i've never seen one, in a store or anyone owning one, I'm sure it has to due with the steep price and parts,

i realy did not relise how bad the parts shortage is but you have to rember that all tamiya dealers can get parts but none hold stock thats the problem my t-maxx rebild is comming along well i should hopefully get the vid up tomoro just befor i sell my mighty t-maxx

i am hoping to get 300 for the maxx but i will need to spend 100 of that on various aceesories like a new charger hump pack and roto start batery because there going with the t-maxx

what do you think i should buy with my 200 pounds i was thinking a sportwerks chaos and a picco.05 then buy a new engine and cluch for the nitrage tell me what you think or should i save up for a bit and buy a savage or a new tmaxx or an e-maxx or what do you think i realy like the look of the chaos and i found a shop selling it for 40 pounds BNIB and the picco is only 25 pounds so 65 pounds for a realy fun litttle truck lol or i buy 2 chaos's ans 2 lil engines lol 1 for show one for playing with lol

then stop saying that everything on it brakes cos you dont have experience with it
eg i dont say the 8t or muggy brakes and is useless, cos i havent driven them
