not even close IMO...the Mugen is faster and more stable, as well the Mugen is also more durable...i drive both machines quite a bit and IMO the Mugen is on the next level compared to the X2

I recently got a X2 RTR. I did not break it in since I have the ST-1 electric and RC8 to work on. A few queries:

1. Jammin is available in my country as Hong Nor, but limited spares, so what are the spares I need to keep handy? What breaks easily on the RTR?

2. What are the must upgrades I need to get?

3. What are the common spares from X1 and X2 buggies that will fit the X2 truggy?

4. What is the base carb settings on the Force .28 engine?

Please help.

I have the force.28 in my x2 rtr. The factory HSP is 3 1/2 (that is rich for my truck though) LSP should be flush with the sleeve I believe 4 turns. (still a little rich IMO)

On 4S I'd definitely try a 16t and if the motor still doesnt get too hot I'd try an 18. If you later run 6S, drop back a bit to the smaller pinions again. I run my xray 15/46 on 6S, i use the same motor and esc combo as you.

thank you for the help, x2 runs fast, but i thought it would be as fast as nitro and the crt x2 does not appear to be as fast. i did forget to state motor size it is 1515 and center diff is stock 48 tooth. i dont get the torgue to do wheels on starts. i did check castle link but really didnt know what to look for there and didnt change anything. im not looking for 70 mph or anything close to that

Taj, on 4S the electrics are about the same speed as the nitros. 6S electric is much faster.

What batteries are you using? What oil do you have in the center differential? If you want wheelies, you need to put 100,000 weight oil in the center diff, then it will wheely all the time.

On the castle link you should REDUCE the punch control setting if you want wheelies, but only after adding oil to the center diff and selecting gears (go with 16t).

On 6S with 15/46 my truggy does standing backflips with 100k in the center diff. With only 50k in the center it will not do standing flips, but still does very impressive wheelies...

i think it is what ever came in kit, maybe 10,000 and 7,500 in front and rear diffs. just the thunder power and turnigy 4s batteries. i see vids on youtube and it just seems not as fast. i did have picco 28 p3 using 30%. maybe comparing to that is wrong. spent 700.00 to convert to electric and maybe expectations were to high. and as far as torgue, i think that it is just my expectations again. thinking to big instead of what it really is.

If you really want to feel the power of electric, then go 6S.

In any case, I am sure that your pinion and diffs are why you are disappointed. The front and rear diffs usually only have grease in them in that car, so if you haven't changed them, that will need doing (10k front, 5k rear). The important one is the center diff though. I promise you if you put something stiffer than 50k in there, along with a pinion change (go with 16t if you are going to stay on 4S), you will see the car wake right up. Trust me, I have a little experience...

The x2 is a good platform to run brushless,

I recently bought a new jammin x2 crt-e kit,

Running the mamba monster and castle 2200kv setup in it,

First run on 4s I wasn't that impressed with the top end speed,
with stock spur and stock 13t pinion,

Then I went 6s, wow completely different story, nuts all round performance,
was popping wheelies at high speed with the front tires blown out like pizza cutters,

But I melted my center diff casing with the center diff unloading a lot due to light weight diff oil,

So then I went back to running 4s after rebuilding the center diff, but this time with a 15t pinion,

This gear change has made a huge difference in drivability and top speed,

With the motor running just about warm after a full 4s 5200mah run,

I will be trying a 17t pinion soon as I'm sure this will be the sweet spot as far as gearing for 4s running on the x2,

The hpi savage flux hp range of pinions fit the x2 and are reasonably priced,

Couple pics of mine

hello
i'm having problems trying to install a 16 tooth mod 1 pinion on mamba monster using the same motor mount the picture over. right now i have 13 tooth but wanted to try 16. i tighten the motor mount and its to tight to move. i have tired to rotate the motor plate on the motor but that didnt work so im going back to 13 unless some can help me.
thanks tom
