C.rap.. That sucks..
Hmm.. Hyper seems to like to make good trucks, but sell'em with cr.appy engines.. Oh well, gotta' be a trade-off somewhere I gues..

Front bearings are often leaky on small engines. No indication that there's a problem unless it's throwing your tune out and letting air in. A bit of oil on the chassis is completely normal for nitro minis. The pullstart is another matter, bbut could surely be sealed with silicone. I've had nothing but great luck with all Hyper engines, don't write it off yet, like you said, it was pulling hard.

I see, ok, good luck. Shame, I find the Hyper motors generally rock solid. Not the greatest performers, but stand up to abuse. Hope it's not the end for that mill.

ran a couple of tanks through the os18 today...its mental running rich on tank 2 pulling wheelies with a 16tooth cb with 10000w centre diff fluid and running rich.it has bent the dog bone on the right rear end already.might have gone to far with this one.we will see.

Hey, what frequency do your RTR's come with there in the UK?? On UK ebay it would cost approximately €220 all up to get one sent here to Germany....
I just don't know when it's coming out here. I would be VERY surprised though if it isn't quite a bit more expensive than €220..
I'm tempted..
What kind of top-speed could one expect?..

RE: hyper st mini
they run on 27mhz am frequencies as rtr,i put a cheap acoms 2.4ghz technisport radio on it(means you can use a full size reciever hump pack battery with the acoms micro reciever)it will probably do 30mph with the standard 14tooth cb-which is faster than it seems with 12th scale.put some larger profile dirt hawg tyres on it today and it still wheelies on demand with a 16tooth cb on it.os 18tz engines are fast.
my mates crt.5 with the ab modded red dot 12 dont wheely as much but revs much harder.we will see how they last with the big engines.

Can you post a link of exactly which OS 18 is needed? And if it needs one, which starterbox? Thanks..
Does it then also need a special clutch or anything?
Lastly, what kinds of aftermarket wheel options are there? Thanks..

RE: hyper st mini
the os18tz can be bought with a pullstart, but cos the engine is on an incline a bulky pullstart assembly might hit the chassis.check before you buy i suppose.best just to get a starter box in the long run.

Hmm.. I'm not looking to invest a lot in this thing, so we'll see. I have a TT box I'm currently not using... Anyway, I don't even have the thing yet.. First I've gotta' run the stocker and see how that goes..

@ Mogi. I just ordered one of these today it should be here on Friday. I have two CRT.5's both with Picco red dots I have a third engine on the shelf which I plan to drop in the Hyper will the Red dot drop right in? Do I need a different cooling head because of the angle and are the CRT.5 parts interchangeable?

RE: hyper st mini
the red dot will go straight in,my 18tz head does not stick out of the top of the body or anything.i had a crt.5 and dont see any parts that will swap over apart from possibly diffs-not seen the diffs side by side but they look similar.how long did your red dots take to break in?my friends still has loads of metal pinch at about 3/4 of a gallon?

RE: hyper st mini
I have about a gallon on both and are really starting to come alive. They still have alot of pinch and are very fast. I could only imagine yours being a bit insane with the 18TZ in it.

RE: hyper st mini
yeah it goes very well indeed,i have put a 16tooth cb on it and it still wheelies.having plug problems at the minute though.it has way more bottom than my friends red dot but even his geared with a 13tooth cb there is nothing in it for top speed.i think his crt turns a bit better though.

RE: hyper st mini
Ordered on Tuesday supposed to be here on Friday got it today I love the USPS. Got it broken in today will hit the track tomorrow unless it rains. Here are some pictures with its cousins. I'm going to run the rtr engine till it dies then I will drop a JL red dot in like the other two. I also put a spektrum receiver in with a stickman 1000 mah NiMh and they fit in perfectly.
