I've made a few changes to my rig over the past few of weekends;
Replaced my busted pullstart with an HPI unit. This ones got a cord that is nylon, and twice as thick. I had to do some grinding inside of it to fit over the 4 screws on the back of the motor.
Changed wheels and rubber to some Pro-Line Road Rage tires. These things stick to the road like crazy. The smaller diameter makes for awesome acceleration, too.
I changed my front and rear axle holders to HPI parts after I clipped a curb at full speed. Twice. The same day. Ouch.
This inspired me to make the custom bumper. (I Frankensteined it out of a crappy little 4x4 I bought for $5, and some aluminum)
Painted over the hot-pink parts of the body with orange. (you can hardly tell the previous owner was a little girl. :P)

Oh yeah, forgot to mention the bolts thing.
(A) I'm going to change to 1/4" lock nuts (vibration can cause the mounts to come loose)
and (B) I will probably drill holes through the bolts in order to let the old body post-screws lock them in place.
*EDIT... this would have made more sense if I had remembered to upload the picture that went along with the description I posted this morning ...EDIT*
