Wetting plywood for bending???
Does it effect the glue in the laminations to wet it for a little while in hot water to make it bend easier??? I am talking about Sig 1/32" Plywood for wing saddle liners. I want to wet it and then tape it in place set the wing with weights on them and let it dry overnight.

Maybe try alcohol. Also, just wetting one side results in good bending as well. If you have problems, try a couple of laminations of 1/64'' ply also.

I didn't even think of them. We also have a Hobby Lobby plus a Michaels. I don't need 48" so that would work. I've got 48" on my mind because ebverything else has to be long. Thanks man you great!!!

The best quality wood I've bought has come from either a mom'n'pop hobby store (NOT Hobbytown!) or from a supplier. Many let you order online.

I just ran them under scolding hot water for 5 minutes where they curve the most and just a couple minutes for the rest. I taped them in place while they were wet and waited for them to dry. I removed the tape and they were shaped perfectly. I glued and used a bunch of frog tape to hold them tight while my carpenters glue dries overnight. There done! Here they are:

I use a 50 50 mixture of water and ammonia on one side only to bend all my wood. Good Luck, Dave

this is without doubt, the best way to perform this act, i used to use about 25%water though, make your self up a simple plastic bag, seal the bottom with tape, drop in the sheet, drop in the ammonia mix, seal the bag, leave for a few hours, withdraw from bag, you will be able to tie knots with the play!!! put it in place, glue, tape, and it will go back yo its original hardenss, with no detremnent to the laminating bond, this method is also good for stick bending, at a demo i attended years ago, whn i found out about this method, the guy had several strips of balsa, and harwood, they where tied in knots!! most enterprisng,
