Is that a Merlin 100? I thought my 60N wren would already be Overkill !!
It's funny, I have the same spinner, but wit a beautifull 18x10 Focke Wulf scale 3 Blade prop.
Only problem I currently have is that my ngk35 cc refused to run this prop, so a 40cc at least will be needed.

Yes, it is a Merlin 100. One of my few motos that can be applied to anything in life is: It is better to have and don’t need, than to need and don’t have - you feel me? I have an 18oz fuel tank for the gas engine and a 50oz for the turbine.
18x10 is a bit much for a 35cc; my prop is an Xoar 16x8.

Ram-Bro, my Man…how are you?
Got burned out - left the Game – still not back; just happened to look at a forum email that came in – I usually just delete them. Went back to riding street and dirt bikes for a while. The Misses got her motorcycle license so I bought two Ninja 300s; twin Polaris Ace 570s and two dirt bikes for the kids https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PX3aibiustg&t=26s
Anyways, since I opened the email and saw Johan with “my baby” ; here I am. Like I said, I’m still not back but will be monitoring this thread a little bit.
Hope you and anyone who remembers me had a nice Thanksgiving and I pray that all of you have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Thank you, Ram-Bro.
A bit of history with my Baby.
I took a look-see at my research documents obtained in 2011; I stated earlier that my baby was a DO 535 – that was incorrect: HE 535 is what I meant to say.
Claude Dornier began the project dubbed DO 435 and Dr. Ernst Heinkel took over the project dubbed HE 535. So either name is correct: DO 435/HE 535. I chose HE 535.
What caught my attention in 2011 was a video of the DO 335 by Spottydog https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jK8ydLY5QHQ Fast forward to 6:25 but the entire clip is excellent.
I then saw the drawing with specs titled DO 435/HE 535.
I then purchased the book titled Dornier Do 335 PFEIL Arrow. Pages 103 and 105 delivered the blueprints along with the brief mention of Ernst Heinkel’s 535.
I also purchased the book titled Dornier – Do 335, 435, 635.
Anyways, Johan’s project: DO 435; My Baby: HE 535.
I actually had an awesome deal with an RC Jet company to build me a Special HE 535 but unfortunately, our relationship went SOUTH as did my deal. But it was going to look like the drawing but much larger.
If I haven’t finished her since 2011, it "probably" won’t happen; still burnt out. She and her NIB friends: 120” Lancaster; 150” DC-3; Gee Bee R3 150cc (Texaco); Gee Bee R3 30cc (Texaco); Sparrow Hawk 62cc; etc. may be up for adoption – Not

Finally found an engine that is able to turn my beautifull Biela 18x10 fw scale prop for the front end of my DO, it is a ZDZ40.
Biella mentions a 30-40 cc engine for this prop, but the 35cc I first bought for it was not able to turn it at all, even the ZDZ now barely gets above 6000rpm now. For me this is perfect, the extra boost from the turbine will defenetly rev the prop much higher in flight.

For those who don't know, Mr DJ had the best RC Hangar of all time. It was like a little Smithsonian. Everything was giant scale like the man himself. Met DJ and his delightful wife at Warbirds over Delaware. Super people.
I kept his secret all these years hoping he could complete his dream plane. Now it's up to the next generation of Dornier enthusiast.
Here's to you Mr DJ.

Hi !
I saw this video on YouTube about a Hybrid ESM Do335....DA60 gas engine in the front and electric on the back !
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g3iMU4yDxOY&t=325s
I think I will go this way with mine with DLE 35 RA in the front and a Turnigy G160 on the back...what's your opinion about it ?

Just maiden my ESM 335 yesterday, damn it flew good! It felt heavy to handle in the air in a good way. Very scale alike. Landning was perfect, a bit of flap and some speed (it sinks quite fast) and it fell down on its 3 wheels. No problem with the ESM gears. E-flite power 160 in front and 110 rear gave good power!
However I got a problem with the rear ESM spinner, it wobbles, its not centered when rotating, its balanced but I got vibration anyway, not sure how to fix this...

If you want to see photos/videos/etc, let me know.
I love this airplane, but I have to downsize. Have to get out of the hobby, except for maybe a couple of small electrics.
