Default Quadra 42cc / Pica p-51

I have a Quadra 42cc. That has never been run and was wondering if it would be strong enough for a fully scale 1/5 Pica P-51 retracts, canopy kit, pilot, servos, Etc.

might fly it but I wouldn't bother to install that engine in the pica - it has an 89 inch wingspan right? Get at least a strong 50cc or larger engine designed in the last few years. Redo the fuselage to get rid of the part of the beam mounts that extends past the original firewall and make the firewall at least 3/8 thick aircraft plywood - or if you go with a 60cc or larger engine make it at least 1/2 inch thick. Reinforce the skin of the front of the plane behind the firewall by adding another layer of wood to the inside of the fuse there, or build it with a thicker skin to start with.

I'm sure others will have further suggestions this is just the basic things I would recommend - that is what I did on mine with a G62 - but unfortunately it was at my buddies house and got lost in his divorce []. Mind you this was at least 10 years ago

Quadra would fly it fine. They are a couple pounds or so heavier than most of the lightweight 50cc gas motors that do make a bit more power. Depending on the final weight of your plane it may not have a ton of vertical.

Good suggestion go with 50cc or better if you want a controlled flight and have it around for a second flight, check out my gallery I should know.

A G-45 or Q-52 is a perfect gasser for this kit. I have had 2.
