Default Looking for the Federal Standard Colors for the P-51 Mustang:

Hi Guys,

I am looking for the basic Federal Standard Colors that were used on the outside of the P-51 Mustang. Basically the Olive drab, Black, White, Yellow & Aluminum.

The plane I am working on it the ESM P-51 “Bald Eagle”.

I have looked at Testors FS paint charts but I need to know which FS numbers were the ones actually used on the aircraft itself.

If you are familiar with the Testors Model Masters colors and know the cross reference all the better. I have all of the color charts by Testors but they have approx. 9 to 10 different color greens all around the same shade of color as the olive drab.

Any interior colors that are available I would take as well.

I have searched several hours and I keep finding the squadron markings etc. but I have not come across any descriptions of the actual FS colors that were the correct colors used on the plane.

Any help would definitely be appreciated.

Thanks

Ed

This might be it.

There are two colors listed for olive drab. One is through 1943, and the other is after.
