What happened to Balsa USA???
Balsa USA quit selling 1/8 & 3/32"x6"x48" balsa sheets. Now they only sell 10" wing skins. Plus they want almost $20.00 per sheet for that. Who else sells what I need? Websites please.

RE: What happened to Balsa USA???
Might be a supply issue. Lonestar Balsa shows 48" sheets but has a blurp on the home page the last container from Central America did not have any 48" wood in it. Therefore it will three months before they have 48" in stock.
They do show 6" X 36" in several thicknesses.

Try Natonal Balsa. I've had great luck with them and they show it in stock.

RE: What happened to Balsa USA???
True 6" balsa stock has been hard to come by for decades. Most 6" wood we buy is narrower stock spliced together before cutting. I would guess the same supply problem exists for 48" lengths .... except the cutter can't glue shorter lengths together to make longer stock!
Now my question is why quality balsa from the various vendors is so hard to find these days ... but much of the wood we see in ARFs is pretty good quality, some is actually quite excellent. Better quality than we can buy from vendors. Where does the wood the Chinese ARF builders use come from? They seem to have no problems getting quantities of good wood.

Most likely the answer to that is we buy small quanities compared to them and money talks as you well know. So we are down the priority list when it comes to good balsa 6" sheet stock. I checked out National Balsa and their prices have gone up just because they say it's hard to come buy same excuse as BUSA's. Everything goes up but out income.[&o] This stinks and will mean more builders going to cheaper arfs.
