From the video it looks like your field is surrounded bt trees, not exactly giant scale friendly, great video though. Thanx for sharing that.

Hi Stuka Barry,

Yup we have trees. However the trees at the ends of our runway have been trimmed back from when that video was taken. The field has a much more open "feel" now than when those were taken.

All the video/pics I have are of something happening like a flyby so you're seeing it through a telephoto lens. That makes the field look much more compressed. In the Warbird video you can see a giant scale P-47 landing. It actually touched down in the last 1/3rd of our runway.

PMAC put on 2 day IMAC event for several years that sold out and filled our padock/parking lot beyond capacity.

You can see our field here. This image was taken before the additional trimming at the ends of the runways.

EDIT: Here's a Youtube video of a new flyer to our scale event last year. He took off from mid field with no flaps. He could have had twice the the amount runway on his takeoff roll if he had turned right and taxied to the end of the runway. The B-17 landed mid field in very blustery conditions. Where he turned after landing is the end of our flight line. There is lots of runway beyond that point. Look at how he got blown around in flight. If you look at the field in the opening shots the camera gets some shots that show the field better than the typical close in tele shots that compress everything.

Be sure to watch this on YouTube full screen in 1080p !!!!

Hey Guys,

I am uploading a new Event Flier here for your info. When I went to delete the old one it noted it had been downloaded Zero times.... I'm not sure how accurate that is so if you downloaded the last one be sure to get this update.

When I reworked the Flier for this years event I forgot to update the Day portion of the Date.[X(] [X(]

I've deleated the old flier from this thread.

The Correct Date for our event is SUNDAY, May 22nd, 2011.

Since the flier is the only place the day was noted only those downloading it here would have noticed this. I print the hard copies this week to go to Toledo and LHS's.

Sorry for any confusion and I hope to see everyone there!!!! On Sunday.....

Joe

Hey Joe, looks like I may be coming after all. Still undecided (so many things happening that weekend), but this is on the top of my list as of now.
I will have an EasyTiger EPO B-17 to bring to the event this years, in addition to the fleet I brought last year.

Hey Guys,

I thought I'd show off one of the ground targets that will be available for you to hit with any Dummy Ordnance you may have.

Of course, you already know this, but I guess I need to write that only dropping AMA approved things will be allowed. Things like Talcum Power Bombs/Drop Tanks etc. If it's AMA approved we allow it. If not then don't even bring it. With that out of the way here's one of your two planned targets.

We have two of these tanks to let loose onto the field at a couple of designated times. You will know well in advance to be able to plan your flights and be ready to fly at that time. Once they are mid-field you will be free to target them. If you guys smash them with talcum powder or pieces break off the tanks we'll laugh and cheer !!! These are very cheap tanks that a couple of us spent all of about 1/2 an hour spraying with an airbrush so that you could see them on a field of green grass.

Anyone attempting to hit our tanks will be required to have a spotter RIGHT next to them in their flying station. The spotter will help them by giving them constant updates on the tanks location, other model aircraft, and any real time info that the flyer needs to be aware of. There is no prize or award for hitting the tank other than the cheers from the spectators and flyers at large.[X(]

Just for reference these tanks are about 2ft 2in long or 2ft 8in if you include the barrel of the main gun!!!

Please note, you are also welcome to drop your AMA approved ordnance during any of the normal flight times during our event. You can do it as practice or as just part of your normal flight routine with the same Spotter Requirement.

We hope you'll plan your flights to hit our tanks.

I hope you'll join us at PMAC field for our event Sunday, May 22nd, 2011.

Once again the flyer for our event is here.

The PMAC web site is here. http://www.pmac.jydata.com/

Be sure to print and fill out or create you own Aircraft Info Sheet for our PA announcer to use when your flying. If you don't tell us about your model we'll make stuff up !!! http://www.pmac.jydata.com/images/Ev..._infosheet.pdf

See you there.

Hey Guys,

I flew my FW-190 last night for the first time this year in preparation for the upcoming mission to hit one of our target tanks on May 22nd.

Here's a test of the center pylon release. Since the center pylon is on a delay it was the position I needed to test. Once I plug in the outer positions they will release right away so that I can make two passes at the tanks and drop three talcum powder filled bombs in all.....

If you watch some of the later passes you can see my gun port LEDs flashing as I pass. The LEDs, and each of the three pylons all work off the trainer button. Simple operation but great fun!!

I hope to tune the mount and balance my prop before our Warbird Event to get even better air to air pictures during the day.
