I know, I'm diggin it. Stephan's work is amazing! I can't wait to see his 1/4 scale FW-190 when released. I'm sure it will be another work of art!

For those that complain about rivits and such on the Sist, I present you the following pictures...

And as was said, remember you are going to prime, then paint, over the actual details as they are which dull it down a bit.

Never the less I present you with:

As you can see the rivits are QUITE visible...

Evil, as I said, I quite like the deep rivets and wavy skin surface. I think it makes it look like warbird that has been in service. I can't remember where I saw the pics but I know I have seen warbirds with the dented skin surface very similar to the SisT. The rivet detail may or may not be to pronounced, But I dig it. So with mine I will prime with a silver undercoat and then paint and weather. I know you have always been a fan of the kit and have never spoken ill of it. One of the reasons I bought it was for the surface texture it has and I'm definatly not about to cover it up.

That D9 is just gorgeous 't'.
The model skin is one thing but your weathering is very nice as well.
A real work horse.

Darn near impossible, although I do have a couple of ideas I'd like to try eventually. The plastic model guys have a few interesting ideas that might be adaptable to a built up airframe.
I'd like to hear about those ideas Chad....

Yep, I'm totally supporting you man.

For some reason the top part of my post got cut out before the images, I was actually saying that real planes had rivits that were QUITE visible, just like the SisT kit...

Any plane that was used in combat wasn't clean, it wasn't neat, it rippled, it bent, rivets sunk and rose, thats what happens when you use a plane in combat, and thats why I like the SisT kit so much. All that detail is there. Its like he did a 3d image of a well used Anton and made a smaller mold of it.

She is going to look GREAT when she is in paint and sitting on her legs. I've seen your work before so I know you are going to do just fine.

VERY nice images of two awesome birds. Well built, well painted. I hope they fly as good as they look.

More work on the fuselage today.

I have about half the fuse formers hysoled in place.

Hysoled the rear wing mounting blocks. (most parts fit almost perfectly so far except the wing blocks. There is a lot of shaping needed to make these fit right)

Checking fit of the gun hood

So far so good! I have also been over every single part looking closely as I have read on other built threads that a few of the fuses were damaged in shipping. I am happy to report that this one is nearly perfect. Only one small chip on the canopy frame exists. This kit is also around 5 years old I believe. Serial number is 0040.

dvs1

I'm sorry for the chip on the canopy I didn't know that happen. I hope you can repair the canopy with not much trouble. My biggest fear when I put the wulf up for sale was it getting damaged in shipment. I tried to repack the wulf better then I received it. Once again sorry about that.

Doug, its no big deal at all. It is a small chip in the gel coat and will be easily fixed with some filler and a couple of simulated rivets. Considering it came from Germany to you and from you to me it came through great! By the way your packing job was excellent! It was kinda funny, after I got the Wulf out of the crate and all the parts I put all the packing bubble wrap and filler back in the crate and the packing material alone wouldnt all fit You definately did a top notch job packing it up.

Heres also a pic of the drop tank as it sits now in primer.

Heres a pic of the wing as it sits now, checking the fit of the Sierra gear!

Trimmed up the cowl and checking preliminary fit of it against fuse and gun hood.

Hopefully get my wing mounted on the fuse soon.

Kinda wierd that last pic of the gear, just the camera angle. It looks like the gear are parallel, but they aren't they have the correct inward rake.
They are Sierra after all.

Thanks for the website, I go there at least once a week to drool I have to admit I am having doubts on doing mine in black 8 and going with blue 13. For some reason I just really dig it! It is going to be a hard choice deciding between the 2.

I really do hope you will be able to get another one to replace this one. It really is a fun build! I would like it if you would post your build progress on this thread if you do.
Question though, if you get another one will you get another A8 or will you go with the D9 like you talked about?

That actually is a cool scheme, looks like another A8R2.

That is a good question because I like both versions. I would have to see which one is available and go from there but if both I would have to flip a coin but one day I would like to have both.
