Just found your thread. Love any kind of WWI or II planes. Here is a link for wing tubes and phenolic sockets. http://www.tntlandinggear.com/

OK I'm looking for a thread and I've searched for it...I need a step by step picture guide on how to install wing tubes..I've never used them and I dont have a clue on how too...also where to buy them...
Instead of using tubes , you do know that you could use aluminum blades, about 1/4" think. It will be a lot easier to work with than tubes. You will have to cut the blades the angle of the brake and it just slides into a socket that you make right next to the spar. It is a pain in the tail to get a tube to work with the break. The blade will be glued in the center section of the wing so all you have to do is slide on the outer wing panels. Just copy the main spar angel for the aluminum blade.

ok I have the H-stab and elevators sheeted...now on to the fuselage...I haven't built a Ziroli plane yet so the crutch building kind of has me baffeled...I see kind of what I need to do but not 100% sure of how to build it straight and the crutch pieces will have to be 2 pieces joined somewhere..where is the best place to put the break...

formers are just here...haven't secured them yet...put 8 and 9 on upside down so it might be a good idea to mark which end it the top...

I ordered some 3/16 robart hinge points...so I've got that out of the way...I still need to find out where and really what type of control rods everyone is using...I've found some cf rods but I'm in the dark on how to install these...I've always used sullivan rods with the sleeves...so do these just "hang onto the servo arm and the control arm without any support of guides?...does anyone have any pics of the control rods installed...and if anyone has a good place to buy these rods tell me...and what length to get...

I use the ones from Central Hobbies.com
http://www.centralhobbies.com/control_linkage/pushrod.html
Love them, it's all I use now

you don't have to support them, but it won't hurt if you do.

I reduced the plans to 80 inches, but this still should give you an idea. Just use the larger yellow flex rods with the black sleeves.

That set up should be no problem for you because you have more space.

well I'm watching glue dry...I decided to let the control arm for the tailwheel to exit the fuselage and hook up with the rudder via a short arm and ball joints

Never fun being tied up by glue drying at this point in a build.

I will be starting mine probably in a week or two.

ok I know I saw it somewhere...what formers do I have to cut to put a cockpit in...Darryl are you going to try to put one in? I received my Sullivan GRHS60 High Stress Rod 60" (2) so I'm thinking of just running a pushrod set up on the rudder..

Paint the outside OD green and put it in the front of a 1000 lbs. bomb on the bottom of the wing.. Run the brake wire straight up thru the wing and mount the servo on top of the wing. Dont forget to slow the Stuka down before applying the brake. After the screamin dive I bring the throttle back to idle ans count to 5 then apply the brake and throttle up, works great and saves the brake.
