RE: Another Ziroli Stuka build
thanks...I hope it goes well...just got the horizontal stab ready to sheet...I used modified the hinge points added more wood and added a 1"x1/4 ply for the control horns to fasten into...I opted to split the elevator and run a 2 servo hookup

RE: Another Ziroli Stuka build
ok I have the H-stab and elevators sheeted...now on to the fuselage...I haven't built a Ziroli plane yet so the crutch building kind of has me baffeled...I see kind of what I need to do but not 100% sure of how to build it straight and the crutch pieces will have to be 2 pieces joined somewhere..where is the best place to put the break...

ok heres a start of the crutch...I was a little confused for a bit but searched and found a few pictures of the crutch already done and the fuselage on it...maybe this will make it a little easier if someone has the same questions on how to start...

formers are just here...haven't secured them yet...put 8 and 9 on upside down so it might be a good idea to mark which end it the top...

RE: Another Ziroli Stuka build
I ordered some 3/16 robart hinge points...so I've got that out of the way...I still need to find out where and really what type of control rods everyone is using...I've found some cf rods but I'm in the dark on how to install these...I've always used sullivan rods with the sleeves...so do these just "hang onto the servo arm and the control arm without any support of guides?...does anyone have any pics of the control rods installed...and if anyone has a good place to buy these rods tell me...and what length to get...

RE: Another Ziroli Stuka build
well I'm watching glue dry...I decided to let the control arm for the tailwheel to exit the fuselage and hook up with the rudder via a short arm and ball joints

ok I know I saw it somewhere...what formers do I have to cut to put a cockpit in...Darryl are you going to try to put one in? I received my Sullivan GRHS60 High Stress Rod 60" (2) so I'm thinking of just running a pushrod set up on the rudder..

Subscribed Dale. Thanks for the link. BillyB on RC Warbird Flyers.
I'm starting a Ziroli Stuka build and didn't want to hi-jack the other threads...I will be cutting my own wood. This is my first attempt at doing a big scale bird from scratch...any and all hints ,tips ,modifications, ideas, free stuff, and even criticism would be appreciated...Today is Thursday 3/10/11...I should be getting my plans in today or by Friday...the wood may get in this week, but looking for it early next week...I'm looking for documentation, and good pics to get an idea of a paint scheme. Ive seen most of the posts and pics on the forums, and I will be using ideas from those..anyone who has built on of these and found a better way of easier way let me know, or something you wished you would have tried and didnt.
