Scale stagger is programed in and it now is a P-47 mode (inner doors stay down)

I can't do this because Idon't have intention of buying. But, has anybody approached one of the gear manufactures to make gear without the air cylinders? Was there a noticeable reduction in a price? Actual dollar amounts aren't necessary of course.

I see this being offered as an option, so this option would be offset some by a less expensive version without all the air parts.

RE: Down & Locked elec. Gear conversion
Just got our Comp ARF 110" Corsair gear back from Down & Locked. They did an electric conversion on this very nice Sierra gear for us. Here are the videos and some close-ups.
The speed is much slower than it will be in the plane. We are using only a 4.8V battery for these tests. It will have a 7.4V LiPo in the plane.

Here is our new Sierra Corsair gear installed in the COMP ARF 110" F4U. It is being powered by it's own 2c LiPo, which plugs directly into the gear's control box.

RE: Down & Locked elec. Gear conversion
I will be contacting Down and Locked in a few weeks about a conversion once I get my gear for the Scale Wings LA-7. I would also like to convert the CARF P-47, but Iwill wait on that once since it seems like it will be a bit more complicated.

As you know, we had our Meister P-47 gear converted, and they work great. The Corsair gear is even larger, with 7" tires, and with the new more powerful motor Mitch is using, it poses no problems.
Hope you give him a shot at those CARF P-47 gear.
We will be shipping our folding wing units out of our CARF F4U for D&L to convert. No more oil to deal with. That will be nice.

Gary,
It is the air strut that is causing me some concern with converting to Down & Locked for the CARF P-47. The strut extends via air as the gear are lowered and retracts via a compression link as the gear come up. Just seem like it would be very complicated to get everything working in the correct order when you would have the gear lowered/retracted via electric but the strut would still have to operate off of air on the down/up cycle.

I do know this, from my experience with Mitch and his company, he loves a good challenge, he is very inventive with mechanics, and if he just can't do it, it won't cost you anything. My guess is that he would figure out a way. Sure would be fascinating to see done.
Are they using Sierra gear in the P-47?
