Thanks to everyone who helped put on another great show. IT WAS AWESOME!! This is my favorite event of the year. Can't wait until next year already. I heard through the grapevine that there was a record turnout. I'm not surprised. I can't wait to see more pictures.

Thanks again,
Karl Womack

Karl, it WAS awesome. Comps on Angel's Playmate too. Sharp bird. I can believe it was a record turnout. I registered as pilot #202 last time I was there, and this time I was #232. Even with that many, it seemed pretty easy going to get a spot in the cue to fly. As the pictures show, just a perfect place to fly. Unless something really goes wrong in the air, almost the entire flight pattern seems to be within a gliding dead stick back to the field, and then the grass is so short and ground so smooth that it takes a ton of pressure off if anything goes wrong.

Hey Sam,
It was great seeing you and all of our other friends again in Fond du Lac. When I was first approached by Fox 11 TV to do four spots on TV starting at 6:30AM Saturday morning, I knew I would have a tough time getting pilots and planes that early. After I spoke to several potential pilots the day before, I wasn't getting much response. Then came Saturday morning and as Sam would put it, the "FOXY" reporter arrived on the scene! Suddenly things were different. It was 6:30 in the morning and there were pilots with planes asking to be on camera! By the way.... I have the reporter Emily's cell number. You know, for next year. We would be happy to see her here again. All kidding aside, we had a great time having all of you at the best grass field in the midwest. Thanks for making Warbirds & Classics over the Midwest 2011 a huge success!

This was the second year that I was there from Thur-Sat with my dad and our Fleet Biplane.  We found a grounding issue at the end of the day Friday that rendered us spectators only for Saturday.  Good thing there were so many awesome planes to watch.  We look forward to attending again next year with a couple more aircraft.

Done.
Got four kits on the 'shelf' (three are Ziroli).
Will probably get two done over the winter; not sure which two, but the P-40 will probably be one of them.

Roy,
Save my 'spot'!

Whoo Hooo!!!! I'm registered. Can't wait. I am starting my P-40B. Blown up Jerry Bates plans. Will be painted in Gregory "Pappy" Boyington scheme. He flew with the original AVG in China.

Yes, pappy flew with them but was a major problem and disliked by most. Per Tex Hill, "He caused a lot of Problems"

Yo Sam,
I've got you covered on your spot. Also, Scott P. If you're out there, I'd be glad to mark one for you as promised! Let me know. Love the "heavy iron" you guys brought up. And thanks again with the TV interview. Can't wait!

JL1, you are correct pappy did not really like the AVG. But he flew with them. He belonged to the Hells Angels. Flew number 21. It should make for a lot of interesting discussions.

We are blowing them up to 94 inches. Have you seen Chuck and Riches.

Speaking of "HEAVY METAL", I will be maidening this MONSTER tomorrow at the Lakeland Airport in Florida. 143" ws and 124 lbs. MOKI 400 for juice!

Karl, you better get cracking on that '40! Just a bit over 11 months to get her ready [8D]....go for it. I'll have a P40 to add to the group....albeit an unmatched E model in British colors. Will try to shoulder up the EZ-up on your guys tent next year, so bring the safety glasses.
