This bird is the biggest baddest ARF warbird to land at my doorstep! 12" pilot looks little

Kahloq, Who are you kidding... get both dammit!!! This thing is very impressive. Certainly will lend itself to some scale detailing, Ty cockpit, panel lines, weather, etc etc. I wonder if we can get ty to do some accessories like he did with the A8 version. Guns, RDF, step This ship is square, 82"x82" and lists at 21lbs. She is a keeper. I had the same thoughts as you about waiting for the G-6 (which I will get) but I'm glad I got this one. When you see the size of the very well packed box you will see why it cost so much to ship. The only issue I had after inspection was the canopy, a little thin and had scratches where it rubbed on something.

This should be a no brainer. How many 109's you got? This airplane will be a lot easier to deal with on the ground as well.

Your answer is biased because you like the 190 d9 better, eh? LOL I agree....will be a lot easier on the ground. However, I have always been the 109 fan more then the 190. I just like the look better. But...again...the stability on the ground is a very important thing to keep in mind.

I dont need to make a decision any time soon. I have to finish the 1/4 scale Dr-1, then get the Airworld me-262 finished. Also still have the esm me-110 and original esm 190 a8 still in boxes. I'll be busy with those for awile...however, IF funds permit, a 50cc plane could bump the last 2 or 3 out of line.

Ok guys I got my new canopy in today and cut it to check out the best pilot for this plane. ..Here is a couple pic's of a 1/6 scale and a 1/5 scale pilot. Personally I think the 1/5 scale looks better than the 1/6. But there are more detailed 1/6 scale pilots out there.. I think I would prefer to do the cockpit around the 1/5 scale one.

I have already made my initial cuts to the fuse for the cockpit I am doing. I am able to make this cut without cutting any formers in the fuse. By using the 1/5 scale pilot you may have to move the servos down just a little. Won't know until i get more done...

Hi fockewulf37

I have just purchased this beauty myself. Where did you get hold of the cockpit accessories?

Ty makes them, you can purchase his kits from VQwarbirds.com for the ESM planes, he also makes other accessories like replacement canopies for the ESM FW190 that are thicker plastic than the stock ones check out tysplanes.com for more info

Ok guys a little more work done. Actually alot of work. To make everything fit up easily and tight... Here are pic's. the dash is taped in place so not really very tight into the hood. I think I am going to make the side panels out of resin. That would give more detail without alot of work for the builder...

After looking at such a beautiful accessory how could one not get excited about this hobby ? especially warbirds ! TY you deserve all the praise and gratitude that is due to you !

Available accessories especially a cockpit kit sometimes decides if I should buy or not buy a particular bird, I'm getting to be a scale junkie LOL so this is a must have for me

Keep up the great work and I look forward to this and future offerings ! ...... now to get the cc ready and give VQ a call LOL

Aces of Iron makes a great looking 1/5 bust. Maybe adapt the century jet arms and lower torso and legs onto the bust. Much better detail

Zero , I would not agree more , TY ,has made it affordable to add incredible scale details . It makes me want to buy the plane based on the interior kit !!!!
I have the IMP interior kit in my Fw190 , mind you it was not a bad start and Greg us an excellany rc guy , but nothing as accurate as Tys , I had planed many options on mine , but Tys would have made a much better foundation to start then my interior kit and for less $$$$ .
These interiors kits are head over heels better then the more commercials ones being sold so much higher !!!.

Anyone wishing to add some additional easy details to the TY interior kit , you can use many of the Fw190 pics in the Tom Pierce Fw190 build from his step by step online build at www.tompierce.com. He shows step by step on every little add on , I know this is a D9 , but many of the areas are the same

Hey guys,
Thanks for the comments. I just feel I have really been blessed by God to have a tolerant Wife, great kids and a hobby I love. Doing the cockpits has been/is fun for me. I just wish I had more patience to make them better.

Thanks again Ty

Ty,

That cockpit looks awesome! I wish I could've waited for its release but I only get the next two weeks free to work on the Dora. I'm slicing the fuse up now in prep for the sliding canopy and using the 1/5th scale gauges from Hobby-lobby for the cockpit. I have big plans for this kit. I’m waiting for all the air cylinders to come in and I'm also debating a scheme change. Nothing to fancy or popular though, just different. I’m digging this ARF considering I’ve paid much more for an unfinished/un-started kit and It’ll be nice for once to just add the details.
