Well she is almost finished. Yesterday I balanced her and to day I will set up the flight controls. She comes in at 26 1/4 pounds. The plane is heavier than most but with such a large wing I don't expect any problems. Hopefully I will bet to fly her this weekend wind permitting.

Right after I crashed mine I asked Tom F. if he had spare parts. He didn't, but he sold me a complete kit for 450.00, and informed there would not be spares or kits. I was lucky I guess.

Hellcat F6F Wild Hare RC - G-Pete's build and review
I have been enjoying thru this build tread as I have just received this kit brand new not started withh all the retarcts complete but I am looking to getting a guide as instruction manual if anyone can assist. I have started in installing the retracts the kit was purchased many years ago and been stored in a shed and it came with no box that it would been in. As far I can tell all items seem to be there but a manual would be a big help if any one can assist. Thanks Andrew.....

Thanks for the update, do you have any pictures it would be good to see them. I am still working on putting mine together I havent had much time to spend on the models late this year so it's still work in progress. I am having a little change of mind when it comes to location of the air tank and all the other bits. Did you use a receiver powerr board? if so which one did you use? Regrds Andrew.......

Great Thread
Hello to all. I purchased the RTC version from Tom. If I'm not mistaken, mine was the very first or second he shipped back in 2011. It is still waiting in the queue. I plan to power it with the Evolution 777 radial engine. I'm happy to see this thread is still alive as there is a lot of good information to look back on.

I had a bad take off and really messed up the gear. I currently checking the air frame over to see if its worth repairing.

Hello All, pardon the interruption of the WH Hellcat thread, but this post is a "follow up" to some of my older posts here on the WH F6F. I sold that one in 2014 to help generate some $$$$ to build a new shop. I hated to part with her, but the money was well spent. Now, I am back in the F6F game with a Top Flite ARC 86 inch Hellcat. Going to be just like the WH paint scheme - Orange drone. Using OraTex this time as Solar Tex is out of business. Same engine - DLE-55 side exhaust. Robart 150HD8 retracts this time. Got her well on the road to finishing. Hope to fly maybe Sept 2020. I will add that the TF series of ARF's are excellent quality! I also have the TF P-47 ARF and it was the same great quality. Too bad Wild Hare is out of business.
OraTex Orange covering, Callie Graphics markings, Behr latex house paint for the cowl, canopy, anti-glare panel and tail flashes. Best pilots Dave McCampbell.
