RE: THRUST LINES FOR ESM 72
Hi
There were no lines marked on the firewall on my ESM Spitfire.
What you need to do is position your engine and cowl combination temporarily on the firewall ( with the fuse supported vertically is easier ).
When you have it aligned, then remove the spinner and cowl and mark your engine placement.
(This is easier said than done I might add!! ) If you want , I can explain the method I used in more detail. It is a copy of the method explained in the YT ( UK ) site on the 72" Spit.
Cheers,
Merlin Man.

Not sure if this type of placement is correct by simply placing the motor and cowl into place, but I could be wrong. Only because the manufacture could easily make a mistake in regards to the cowl. Thank you

RE: THRUST LINES FOR ESM 72
Merlin Man is correct. The thrust line on a warbird is not super critical (in respect to a pattern type plane). I used the same method Merlin Man said when I built mine a few years ago and it flies great. Used the same method for my ESM Stuka, 50cc Spit and now my 50cc ESM P-40. The tip I'll give you is when you stand your fuselage upright on its tail, use some masking tape or similar to strap it to your bench so it doesn't fall whilst your up on the ladder aligning everything. Cheers,
Dave

Hi
If I remember correctly, there is noticeable downthrust built into the firewall, but not much , if any, right thrust. But, as damagedgoodes has said , It flies great with what ever its got !
Cheers Merlin Man
