He took it home with him. The firewall was busted out for sure. I'm sure he'll have to stew on it a while about fixing it or starting fresh. I had my DR1 up later that day and Bruno shot my engine up with his Neuport forcing me to the ground as well. Was not a good day for the Germans.

Hey guys, More pics from my friend John Dussold. This was a FANTASTIC event! The field, the flying, the dinner and all the great people equate to nothing less than RC HEAVEN! I'm counting the days til next year. - Lyle

I can't believe it's over...what a blast!! You folks really know how to put on a top notch event. Thanks to Tim and Karen for the wonderful facility and all the work that keeps it that way. Phil, Cal, Steve and Jeff...nice job fellas, you guys are the best! Here's a few screen captures...just the tip of the iceberg! By the way, was there anything left of that Airworld FW190 that spun into the trees on Sunday? Yeesh, that looked painful!

As a member of the flight line crew I want to thank Tim and Karen and all thefantastic pilots that took part in this great event........See you all next year (unless I see you in Fond du Lac).

Mike, yeah... that was Mark's FW.
Not sure about whether anything survived. It happened just as I finished loading the trailer and was preparing to head back to Iowa, so I never saw the aftermath.
My heart goes out to him... It flew beautifully, but that motor was acting schizophrenic all weekend. He was out of position and didn't immediately point the nose to the ground so...

Ow. What a bummer. Really a shame. Nice looking bird that one. I feel bad for Mark. Hopefully some of the gear in it at least came out OK.

I could not agree more with everyones comments on this excellent event! Weather was way better then what the local weather peaple were saying. Left and returned with all aircraft functioning! Everyone there very upbeat and friendly. I had a great time. I can't wait til next year!

Also on Friday night after most people left the field the rest of us were treated to a tethered hot air balloon. After I got my tent set up I saw they were settting it up. Very nice against the blue sunset sky. A very nice end to a perfect day.

Time to hear from the Horse's Mouth? (or whatever part of equine anatomy)
Yep, that was Red 23. Sorry to say.
Perhaps the best-flying giant warbird I've ever owned.
Not much of a flyer at stall speed with a stationary 32x18 prop up front, as it turns out.
Details and pictures later.
Hey wulf190, will you and Chuck paint my next one, too?

Really sorry about it Mark. A real drag. I was very fond of that one. Nice to hear you intend replacement of all it's glory....and, to answer above...of course...whatever it takes...and...like chocolate chip cookies..the second batch always seems to come out better than the first.[sm=thumbup.gif].

Great photos! I really like that shot of Jeff's diving Dauntless! Man, he really flies that huge model like it should be flown!
