Here are some of my favorites. They show the work we did to 'fade' and age the paint.

David sure gets some great shots.

This is one great flying WWII fighter. She is so responsive that you feel very 'connected' to her as you maneuver.

Ground handling is excellent as well, when balanced properly..

This will be fun Dino. We are too.

I was over to Brian's shop Yesterday to take him a delivery I had gotten from Micro Fasteners and Micro Mart (great stuff BTW), and we brain stormed the gun system a little. He is doing some really cool stuff with this project. I think we have the speaker location nailed down. The sound system is lacking in couple places, but we will modify it as needed to enhance the effect. More on this later. A strafing run with guns blazing (and smoking ) just sounds too cool, and it is going to be a reality.

I'm working on the cockpit right now. My plan is to not install a floor, as the full scale had none. Brian asked what about all the radio gear, my reply, can you spell 'aluminum paint'.. Simulated wire harnesses and air lines that look like hydraulic lines will look pretty good under the pilot.

I have a lot of details to work out, and all the ideas floating around in my head isn't helping. I fear at some point, I'm going to have to shut down the creative juices so I can get some work done. I spend wat too much time just sitting and staring at things thinking. I love this stuff.

I'll get some pictures up soon.

The only thing better than "guns blazing and smoking" would be Pyrotechnics blowing up an anti aircraft gun emplacement, with bodiy parts flying, burning enemy soldiers running out of the emplacement, and an enemy general committing "Hari Kari" on the hillat his knowledge that his base is being shot to shreds. But then I'm getting a little carried away aren't I?

Let it rip, your stuff is amazing and I can't wait to see the progress and then the real deal at an event. Like my kids would say "Way cool man!"

Looks like I need to get G-Pete involved in this. I think he might just be the guy to figure all that out.

In the meantime, this may be my new screen saver. Thank you Dave Hart.

Notice the guns had been cleaned, loaded, and taped up for protection, but not fired yet.

Oh, I wanted to give you guys an update on the progress of the electric conversion to the wing folding system. We sent Mitch the units from the kit, along with the sleeves they slide into, that will be glued into the outer wing panels. This way, he knows exactly how much room he has to work with. Once he has this figured out, he won't need those parts (the sleeves) sent in again. He has told me, now that he has the units in hand, "I don't think it will be to difficult to convert". He expected to have it figured out this week yet. I'll let everyone know as soon as I get more info, but it is looking pretty good so far.

This will make the wing much less complicated, and save some weight as well.

I know many are waiting to see how this turns out, including Darrel. This may become the new standard wing setup. Right now, Brian and I still plan to drill and tap the frame for our locking bolts.

One step ahead of you Gary , the shot that Dave took is my screen saver . Just seeing those gun barrels taped over gives more incentive to get the project done .

Can't wait to see her in action.

Dave gave us a lot of good choices didn't he. I can't wait to see the rest of his coverage of the event.

It won't be long till Brian has the sound linked up with the lights. We are moving along as well.

Thank you so much. I feel worse for Dom, who can't immerse himself in these technical challenges to cope with the loss of a plane like #1. We are fortunate to have a build like this to focus on. I look at the pictures of #1 and see so many things I intended to improve on.

Yeah, I will be posting themm on my site as well. I hope to have them up soon as well, but I have a feeling Frank will have them up first. I also usually send Frank more than what I post on my site.

News on the new electric wing conversion. Mitch has them done!!!!!!!! They will ship as early as tomorrow. Looks like by the end of the week, I'll be able to post some pictures of them for you guys.

Our plan is to install everything, make sure it all works as we expect it to, and then share whatever we need to with Darrel, so he can do his thing. This is cool. I hope to get some pictures of other things we have been working on posted soon.

Please stand by.

Thank you John. Did you have the folding wing version? If so, I should have some pictures of the electric conversion in a day or so.

Here is a full scale picture of what I'm working off of. I took it at a museum near my home. The have a Goodyear built F4U cockpit in original condition.

Also notice the guards on the switch complex either side of the sight. I'll be making these as well.

I'm experimenting with simulating crinkle paint. Not easy I'm finding.
