Here is look at everything that is included with our exhaust.

right and left stainless steel and shot blasted pipes, flex tubing (user cuts to the required length), silicon mounting cushion, and clamps

The builder will supply (2) 3/4" 6-32 or equ. mounting bolts, and a scrap piece of 1/8" ply inside the fuselage as backer for the bolts. The hole has been drilled for you. It is in the mouth of the opening of the longest pipe. After the first engine run, this is all black and the bolt is not visible.

For those with orders placed, shipping has begun.

I am working on a short PDF file of mounting recommendations that will be available on line. I'll also do a better picture spread in this thread, for reference. Not rocket science here, but every little bit helps, and it may save a little time.

BTW, sorry for the blurry picture. Dan must have been shaking with joy when he took it.

For those curious about the weight on our stainless steel pipes, each pipe, including the clamp, only weighs 2.4 oz. Why do them in the more vulnerable aluminum, is what we thought.

A note on the tail gear to all you CARF owners.

I preface this with appreciation for all CARF has done well on this aircraft. But, again, in their own words, they consider this a ''museum'' scale aircraft.

Apparently, CARF has made no formal request to the manufacturer to make a correction to the length of the shock on the tail gear. If you have a 4'' shock, it needs to be shortened to 3'' for the scale look. Again, only the tire should protrude through the tail gear doors, and NOT the fork. Contact Sierra directly and he will take care of this for you.

Here is one that has been shortened by Sierra.
Wow, this is weird. I just measured my shock and It is 3 1/4 in long. The weird thing is, my tail wheel does not stick out of the gear doors when retracted. It is at least an 1 1/2 inches below the gear doors. I checked to see if i could adjust the shock to make it longer but it does not adjust. I suppose the fix is a longer shock to make it right.

tail wheel angle has been corrected. It should hang out this much when upright.

Just when I thought I had a plan for my building projects........................

I have to visit that AT6 this week end and get some pictures.

How much flex do you need?

Or give me a call.

For sure. Didn't take too much convincing though, did it.

Electric is the way to go, and Mitch is the guy willing to think out of the box on new projects. I can't imagine anyone else that would have been willing to take on that first wing conversion. Now he has done dozens. I think he got 8 in to do just last week. I think he said 6 of them were new builds. He is doing them for builders all over the world. He also told me that most of the customers on these CARFs are getting everything as well. Gear, wings, and canopy. All from that first build we did.

Although the Corsair was not our first conversion, I think the wings on her really opened some eyes to the possibilities of reliable electric operation in giant scale, from Down and Locked.

Then I encouraged Mitch to make that first trip to the Toledo show, where we would first meet in person and become friends.

His company is doing well and growing, in no small part due to customers like us who quickly recognized the merits of what he had to offer, and his willingness to take on challenges, and come through with solutions, all with genuine integrity.

Hello Discowings. I'm sorry, guess I've killed too many brain cells with CA.

The email set up for orders is [email protected]

Just send us am email to that address stating what you would like, and an invoice will be sent to you. You can use the paypal address included or some other form of payment. Whatever works for you.

There will eventually be a web site to make all this easier.

Thanks for you patience

Unsure if you are receiving my PMs as your inbox reads full ?

Just awaiting details, costs for the guns/lights etc, to see if they can be delivered to UK in one hit, together with the exhaust you are kindly supplying me with.

Thanks

My email is [email protected]

Not sure what is going on with my PM box.

I'll do my best to have all that info by Wednesday. My brother is working on the electrical stuff and I need to see where he is at on that.

I'm sure we can do it in one shipment. I'll need to have Dan send me your pipes and then ship to you from here. Happy to do it for you.

Cheers Gary - obliged for all your help.

By the way, received my full electric conversion from D&L (wing fold, gear and tail-wheel). What a great company, Mitch is a top man.

Great news. Yes, they are top shelf.

Hope you got the manual switch for it. Very handy during construction.

For those using the Moki 250, your stand-offs will be 7/8, 13/16, and 23/32. This will give you the 2.5 deg right and .5 deg up thrust. On page 34, post #835 I address these stand-offs.

Please note, these are shorter than the ones for the Moki 215.

Oh crap, thanks for correcting me. Probably had guys scratching their heads on that one. Doesn't do much for sales either.

I was very sick over the week end and I think I got my days and nights mixed up a little being in bed as much as I was. I slept about 3 hours and was back up this morning.

Sorry guys, I just realized this is sounding way too much like that stupid twitter or something.

OK, so now the tail gear bulkhead is permanently glued in with Hysol mixed with microballons. Yes, microballons in the tail, Steel Powder in the nose. Same procedure, different material.

Next for me is the vertical stab and rudder install. You want to get this out of the way now, because the bearings and tiller for the rudder are under the deck you need to glue in for the elevator servos (with the plane upside down on your bench).

The manual would have you moving on to gluing in that deck, and then even doing the tail gear doors before coming back to the rudder. I guess they could say it is easier because the vertical fin isn't in place so it would sit on the bench upside down easier. ??????? I just let the tail hang over the side. Stupid in my book. Plus, by now, any respectable builder, would have made some Styrofoam blocks to hold it in any position, right. Leave yourself as much room as possible to get the rudder assembly in place, IMO.

Gary,

One of your fans (lurkers) here. Can you tell me about using Hysol and micro balloons? I'm familiar with Hysol, with (West Systems) epoxy and different micro balloons but have never used Hysol with micro balloons. Can you tell me why you combine them (weight savings I assume but....) and is there any difference in using Hysol vs epoxy and micro balloons.

Whit
