Gary, is aerofoil easier to apply than flite metal? Your application behind the cowl flaps on the fuse is perfect. I tried one little area with flitemetal and it was tough to do it without wrinkles. You put a small roll of foil in with my intakes, is that aerofoil?
Intakes are perfect!

We like Aerofoil. It is a couple .00s thinner, can be purchased in 12" wide rolls by the foot, and you can have it in a couple days. It is nice for compound curves. I have some more pictures to post of the nose after I was done finishing the aluminum. I sand it with 400, then go over it with 0000 steel wool. Leaves a very authentic looking aluminum finish.
I include some Aerofoil with intakes so you can cover the lips of the openings. Makes for an authentic look after paint and some chipping and steel wool treatment. Also sent some rivets for the interior for after you get them installed.
Glad you like them. Look up the install in the thread. It shows the whole procedure.

Gary, I love your Powdered Steel - I made some molds and weights last night and today. They should work great.
Question- My Epoxy to steel ratio was about 8:1 - 40 grams resin/40 grams hardner to 650 grams powder.
How much powder can I add before the block not good and solid?
I told a couple of guys to contact you about the steel as they were going to use lead and I told them about your "miracle powder"!

Strength? Well, let me just say that I sold some to a tank builder that uses it to mold drive sprockets. For that use, you would want a very high ratio of powder to epoxy. Really, as long as it is 'wet', that is, there is enough epoxy in the mix to completely cover all of the grains of powder, it will have tremendous strength. If you want to drill and tap it, you will also want this high ratio mix. Now the application will have some bearing on the viscosity of course. For instance, if you are looking for a self leveling property as in the nose of you cowl, you will want less powder. A fairly thick paste will still have flow, if you use 20 min epoxy and give it plenty of time.
I have not renewed my ad on RCU for awhile but I will to make it easier. I also looked into an ad with RCSB as well. Might do that in the near future.
Thank you very much for your support Keith.

yes it did - I did it about like you said to. I made it really thick but wet and it turned out very hard. I just drilled the blocks and mounted them to my plane and will do another Weight and Balance. I used a hacksaw to cut one block in half and a file to round edges so my Cowl wouldn't rub.
Here is a pic.
