The event I'm going to this week end is the Ram's Club 2014 Giant Scale Warbird Event in East Bend N.C. the 11th and 12th. Nice time of the year for us northern guys to get our equipment out and knock some dust off before Top Gun, when we would otherwise still be grounded because of soft fields around here. Looks like a lot of the TG guys are coming. probably with some of the same thoughts, not to mention it is another opportunity to see ours friends and hang out. First time for me. I'm pumped.

Thanks, I found the correct airbrush. Last question, do you know which tip you are using with the Klass Cote paints? I have to specify .2/.3/.5mm when ordering.
I am getting ready to start on an Airworld Me-262 and Petrausch Fw-190 and hope to use this brush for as much as possible. I currently use an Iota airbrush for small stuff and a trim gun for big stuff. But they are both kinda too small then too big! Thanks again, awesome project you have here, I follow it for entertainment.

My Grex came with two magnetic tips. The nozzle it came with is perfect for any paint I use so far, including Klass Cote. I use both tips as well. Not sure what the size is. I'll see if they are marked. For large open areas like wing panels I still use my shade gun. But the Grex is still very versatile for both large areas or small down to tiny dots.

Hi Gary,
many thanks for sharing your build veryyyy impressive- I've started flying (7yrs -that long) built my first plane from plans 4yr(my avatar) ago still remember being so chuffed when other members gave their comments and I guess you still get that feeling as well albeit your scale work is farahead on what mine will be, just spent the last month reading all your posts and like any good read couldn't step away from it. thanks again unlike yourself I have started late but boy has the bug bite, same vintage as yourself -all the best at the coming comps (don't think you much luck with all the work you put in), look forward to more of your excellent photos and videos. yeh my wife thinks I many screws loose sitting watching / reading but boy is it good for the therapy / rainy days.

Here you go guys. This is a nice video made of the first outing for this build. Hope you all enjoy it. Keep in mind that this build is still a work in progress as you see her here. Much of the surface detail the owner will continue with including the nomenclature, weathering, and other identifying characteristics of this particular aircraft.

It was a rocky start to this first outing. On Friday, while she was in a cradle under Johns tent, a gust of wind picked it up and one on the tent legs hit the plane and knocked it over damaging it. The rest of the day and part of Saturday morning were spent making repairs. Then it took about 3 hours to pre-flight and adjust the prop for the 3800 RPMs we wanted on the Moki. As you can see in the video, it was all worth the effort, and this had a happy ending.

Not so much for me. This is my truck. We were on the way to a repair shop to get a leaking wheel seal repaired (had just had this fixed two days prior back home). Seems I had bigger problems I was unaware of untill this happened. It was just a couple inches from coming out all the way which would have been much worse and possibly even lethal had that axle and tires gone airborne into traffic. My brother was following me and saw the axle start to come out. He was laying on his horn, but of course, I couldn't hear it over the Cummings diesel. I did know something was wrong when she popped out of gear, which turned out to be the axle coming out of it's spline, so I coasted to a stop just in time. I jacked up the truck, pushed the axle out of traffic, called the repair shop and requested a flat bed, locked the truck up, and headed back to the flying field to get the Corsair her maiden.
I'm still stuck in Charlotte at my brothers house waiting to hear from the repair shop.

Here is a video I made at the event. It shows the new design on the canopy system. At the end is something I kept under wraps as a surprise for the owner.
One thing I didn't point out is that the stops at both ends are built into the rail system and puts no stress on the canopy itself.
