This is news to us. Good news, but I can not confirm. The 250 fits very tight as it is. The 257 - 7 cylinder fits for sure as it is actually a little smaller in diameter than the 250.
I will say that the 250 is way more than scale power for this plane. It will virtually leap into the air with this engine. Full throttle is not needed or recommended even with this combination as the air frame has limits not to be exceeded, which can be, even with 250 driving the less-than-optimally-efficieant 3-blade Solo Prop. Even the 215 pulls this aircraft with authority.
Just food for thought.

BTW, I am on a short vacation from h.......ll. We got to Orlando and one day later my mother in law (possibly on her last trip anywhere) fell in the room due to a small stroke she had while walking to the bathroom with her walker. My wife, an RN, saw it happen and was quick to get the squad coming. Turns out that if she had been at home unattended, that may have been the end right there due to the small brain bleed driven by really high blood pressure at the time. They were quick to get the blood pressure coming down. She has been in the hospital ever since, at times claiming they are trying to kill her and rigging the machines to give false readings to keep her there, and that we are going to leave her there to die. My wife calls it sundowners due to the brain bleed, and deals with this sort of thing all the time as she works in critical care. They don't get paid enough after seeing what they do, IMO .
I know this is off topic, but wanted to let you all know why the delayed responses on things. Hope to be back home next week but we can't leave till gramma is released.
As Arnold says, I'llll Be Baaaaaauuuuuck.

Thanks guys. Looks like we are in Florida a little longer. My wife is really stressed out. It doesn't end when we leave. Her mom and dad have been living in their home. He has Alzheimer and now she will not be able to take care of him. Big changes to confront in the next few days. My dad was killed in a plane crash at 38. Mom was alone when we had all this to deal with. She also passed from Alzheimer. Much easier then. This is going to be interesting for awhile. Today, she wanted my wife to put her in the dish washer.

I agree With you that the 215-250 is good for this airframe but for me big is better
I hope everything will turn for better With Your Family.

Hello Corsair Pilots,
I have a question regarding the wing folding meachanism. I noticed that it takes longer and longer each time for the wings go up and down. In the beginning it took less than 20 seconds for the wings to fold and unfold. Now its takes more than a minute and sometimes i even need to manually speed up the process by pushing the wing down or up. I increased the pressure already on the system, but with no effect. The pump feels the same as before, judging by the noise it makes when the pump runs).
Maybe some has noticed that also and knows how to fix Thanks....

You may want to check the pressure in the accumulator. It may be loosing pressure somewhere. If that is ok,i would look into the pump itself. Like any pump, the inturnal seals can wear.
Please let us know what yo find. Might help others.

Learning 3D CAD has been more of a challenge than I thought it would be. It's taken me a long time to get to this point, but I am pretty happy with the results. I am also 4 hours into a 20 hour 3D printout of the front half of the wheel. I'll post a photo of the results tomorrow. Here's a rendering of the wheel and a photo of an earlier printout of the front half with out as much detail.
I printed it using a Lulzbot Kittaz that Iv'e upgraded to a TAZ 5. The print is done in ABS with a .08mm layer height and a .25mm nozzle.
Scott.

Thought I would update our situation.
The almost impossible happened in that my mother-in-law's insurance agreed to pay for the air ambulance to fly her home to Ohio from Orlando. This was done last Sunday. She has since been admitted to a local rehab facility. Still some tough decisions to make as right now they are recommending assisted living rather than returning to her home when she is released. Tough because my father in law is suffering from Alzheimer and can't be on his own either. Moving them in with us may not be possible. Still, we are all home and getting on with things. Although my work in the shop has taken a serious hit, i'm getting back at it.
Thanks for all your support.
