Engines is from http://www.kolmengines.com/ (German only site). Their 2 cylinder 130 cc engine costs €2.475,00 (exhaust parts etc. are extra).

My wife has my back when it comes to this hobby, but that somewhat based on the "they all cost 300USD" lol If she EVER found out she would flay me.... then put me to the rack and make me walk in her"cheap" heels lol....
for that money, I'd probably walk the walk lol...heels can't hurt that bad lol....
gimmme that engine!
and give her all the heels she can buy!

German engineering.... Nice.
The same guy designed a gear reduction drive unit for a german 80cc engine that will allow a scale 4 blade prop to be spun on a CARF 1/4 P-51!!! also scale 3 blader on a 1/4 scale Me-109 or Fw-190!
I believe that mustang is a CARF Mustang.
Thanks
dave

Thats the only way I would build a P51, if I could afford that engine. It would be sweet in a P51 C about 120" WS , red tail Macon Belle the best Mustang they ever was.[8D] I bet it would be the star at any show.

ORIGINAL: Whistling Death
It doesn't look like there is a cast part on that engine anywhere so the high price is to be expected.

It certainly sounds nice but CNC machining is a dime a dozen these days, so that should be no excuse for the price being 15x that of other 200cc engines.

CNC is cheap... as soon as you get everything designed, tested, and refined; and are pretty sure of selling a lot so that you can produce lots of your parts.
Of course there's always electric:
