What does Top Flite recommend? Any reason to doubt them? BTW, I have NEVER needed to add nose weight to any of the 3 Top Flite Corsairs that I built.

I used a ST.90 on mine with a slimline pitts large volume muffler. Great combo. Make sure you use the cowl baffle, the engine will overheat if you dont. You need about a 2"x4" hole out the bottom of the cowl for the exhaust and muffler. With the battery under the fuel tank, mine balanced with no led using that engine. They fly great at about 9.5 lbs. They'll fly at 12lbs, just not very fun. At the heavy weight, you gotta stay on top of it all the time. It will have a nasty stall at slow speed. Set controls at elev - 1/4" u/d, rud - all you can get, you'll need it, ail - 1/2" u/d will do. The elevator is really pitch sensitive if you get too much. Seen several go in due to controllability from too much throw.

DougB1,
A DLE 20 for $180 is a good deal. It will fit in the Coursair ok and you will certainly not lack for power. But it won't be too much. But you should re-inforce the area of the wing around the gear wells. I have three DLE 20s and they are good engines (so far).
