Byron/Ironbay T-28
Saw a Byron/Ironbay T-28 for the first time this past weekend and was very impressed. The specs don't do it justice, this is one very large and cool looking plane. Considering Ironbay's hit and miss reputation and the pretty steep, $1,495.50 shipped, price are there any other sources for a similar sized T-28 or does anyone know where there's one for sale?

Your correct Rambro! I did sell it along with three others I had. They are like collectors items and they sure sold that way. Would love to do another one someday. Good luck RCMIGPILOT. If you get one you won't be disappointed. They fly as good as they look!

That was my T-28 at Berwick. There is a balsa kit this same size that is a build thread here on RCU http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_44..._1/key_/tm.htm. Look towards the end of the thread to find the contact information on the kit. I was going to build one of his until I found the Byron T-28 at the Perry Swap meet.

Here's mine. Been flying my Byron Trojan for a couple of years now and she is still one of my all-time favorites. Scott Prossen is right, they fly as good as they look. Gonna miss your out at MP this year Scott. But I am looking forward to seeing the big P-47.

Hi Mike,
This is Craig Fendley in Houston,TX. I have been wanting to build a Trojan with the 150 Radial. Let me know how the test flights work out. If you could, send some more pics of your engine install.
Thanks
Craig

Hi Mike,
I was able to get in contact with Iron Bay Models and I will be ordering a Trojan kit. Could you tell me what brand of landing gear you are using in your Trojan? How is the Moki doing in your plane?
Thanks
Craig

Hi Craig-I am using the Robarts on the mains, and a Sierra on the nose. The sierra is a custom made gear, and it appears to be more stout than the Byron. Everyone else is using the Byron gear, so prob. not necessary to have the Sierra on the nose.
So far so good on the Moki-I hope to maide her within a week or two. I will let you know how it goes.
Thanks-Mike O.

Hey Ram-Bro,
I am putting together an order for the kit and some extra items (cowl and canopy). I will let you know when I confirm the order with Iron Bay.
Hey Gary9648,
Send me some pic of your Trojan. I know a couple of interested parties, not on RCU.
Thanks
Craig

Hey Ram-bro,
Ordered T-28 kit from Iron Bay last week. Anita at Iron Bay said I would receive the kit in three weeks. We have been Emailing back and forth almost every other day. I will let you know when it arrives.

RE: Byron/Ironbay T-28
I wanted to mention I received mine earlier this year from Iron Bay. They are doing as much as they can on the RC side while working on the Defense side to keep the company going. I have talked to John several times on the phone and he is planning on putting kits and parts back on the shelves so anyone can order a kit that is in production and buy the parts they need to have for the older kits. I have had several orders with them and they have come through every time. I have also talked to Anita on the phone on several items and she was very helpful and willing to help me with the orders. Hope this helps anybody looking to do business with Iron Bay. Thanks Donzie

You are so right Donzie. I talked to John personally last week. He told me the same thing about having kits on the shelves, ready to ship. He was very busy on a Defense Contract job but had time to talk to me. He said Anita would take care of everything. So far I have had good response from Iron Bay. I will let all the guy's know what happens.
Thanks
Craig
