Here you go guy's
It's a bit hard to see the exact shape of the spinner because of the shine but I've put it against the Meister spinner for comparison. It is a bit more pointy than the Meister but I think it's not too bad, and besides, other than paying a bit for Tru Turn what choice do we have[:@] In a couple of days I'll get some etch primer on it and put it on the front of the 109 for a better indication. Also included is the D9 ESM spinner. Cheers,
Dave

The meister spinner looks like its the same diameter?? If that's the case, I'd rather have the meister spinner however more costly. But the Dora spinner looks nice. I'll add one to my list.

Ram,
The Meister is 1/4 inch too small (diameter 6.25 inch ESM is 6.5 inch) and does look a tad too small on the model. So at great personal risk of injury from the wife for dodging our family commitments I just snuck into the shed and shot some etch primer out of the can on to it as I too was curious to see what it would look like. I'm happy with it's shape. For me this model will be an every day flier and besides getting Ty's cockpit thats as far as I'm going in terms of scale with my build when I get a chance to get back to it. Hope you find the pic's helpfull. Cheers,
Dave

Great pictures, thanks for sharing the information.. Now to just get them here! I've ordered the three and two bladed. When I start back on mine; I've decided to flip the wings. The radiator flaps just annoy me to no end after doing more research[:'(] and since the fuse has pnl lines, midas well do it to the wings..

G'day Dave,
Yeah the 109 is still a bit away from completion but after mid Jan when I'm back from Darwin I should get it finished. No I haven't bought a Dora The spinner is for a good mate of mine up in Darwin. I got him the D9 at the same time I got the 109 off Austars Model and when they rang me a couple of days ago to say they had the 109 spinner they asked if I wanted the D9 spinner. I didn'teven know ESM were doing one for it. The Falcon is coming along. Trouble is I only havce a week to finish it (needs fitting out of all the bits and nose gear) to get certified up north as well as weather and clear coat the ESM P40. Better pull my finger out. Cheers,
Dave

Thanks! I stayed up and worked on the headrest. I'm not satisfied with it as I know it should be a little taller and my aerodetail shows more details then what I've seen (it's design) so I may redo it. Once satisfied, I'll go ahead and finish things up. Get out the dremel and start cutting out the aft of the canopy.

I'll post pics soon.

Here are the pictures of the armored headrests. The first was my blind attempt with using Ty's version, traced the pattern and modified it, the second is where I actually took the time to reference the aerodetail and drew it out. The first would've worked to a degree but as you can see, it's design is off. I'm glad I don't have any more small parts to make (willing to make) as the second armored headrest used the last of my styrene.

Very nice Cock-Pit!

One idea is to cut open the schwimm-west on the "backside", and remove the fluffy stuff inside.....

Well you know, ME109 pilots didn't last long toward the end of the war.. Maybe he was just planning ahead..lol I like the idea of removing the fluff.. We'll get it done later. Are these the only pilots with this issue. I had a Tuskegee pilot which had a flat version.. Maybe its because he was on the winning team (Allied)..lol

Ram you are exactly right!!! I can understand why you arent satisfied with it so just send it to me and I will try to live with it and in the meantime I will send you my cockpit so you will have a fresh slate of canvas to work on Just trying to help...hehe...and where did your pilot come from? Is he 1/4 scale?

very nice work Ram keep the pics coming

To funny, I actually wanted to ask you if you wanted the other armored head rest. Working on making the new temps in PDF form so I can post for the rest of those that want to punish themselves with the work. Maybe after the holidays. The pilot is 1/6 I think. I have three of them.. Well two not in use for now..lol I remade some things and still have your address. After the holidays, I'll send you what I have if you'd like? As for the canopy.. Sorry friend, you get to suffer!! Not as much though. Xmas will be a little slower for you but it's still coming.

Thanks for all the compliments! I got the plastic windows in and I'm working smaller details again. I had the experience of a lifetime when som CA ran through some ca excelerant and on to my fingers...WOW!!! Taking a break as its been several hours since and it's blistered all up and stings something fierce! Any hoo, I got an early Xmas present from best buys and I've been distracted by it

Looking forward to getting a spinner so I can get the engine mounted. I may just start on the wing flip in the meantime. I'm sure it'll be a lot easier then the cockpit..
