Update on the shindinmachine landing gear...Lenny is doing some R&D and has already improved the gear for this plane...going to a larger lower strut so he can include the 1/4 inch axles as well as including stronger oleo springs. The pictured gear have the original struts and axles but Lenny they go back for the upgrades These will be excellent changes. He is also completing the tail wheel for this beauty Cant wait for that as well. Thanks Lenny

Hey Ram do you detect any thrust angles in the firewall...Have some ideas on that

I've yet to get to the engine but I'll do it per the instructions if possible. Thanks for the parts! I plan on putting them to good use here soon. My bird is built and now the electronics are going in. I spent a few hours on the inner flaps today.. Well worth the changes I made here. Looks more accurate.

Hey Ramstein, Its an 18x10 Hamilton prop that I'll be puting on a Hurrincane that I'm just in the process of fiberglassing. I'll be puting a 3 blade Solar prop on my 109.

It looks good. A solo prop..., must be nice, my landing say, buy cheap.. Especially with a 109..

More pics. I have much to do but I'm running out of things to customize and that what I enjoy the most!the engine is just in ther for reference and they'll both be completed when I get a spinner. I was seriously considering asking someone from down under to send me a spinner as who knows when we'll get them in the states!

If you email Steve at [email protected] he will send you one out really quick. He had 2 and 3 blade spinners in stock last week. I think I paid around $85 for mine. He mails overseas too. Its the only place I was able to pick one up. Theyre fairly pricey, but they are a huge spinner and look to be made pretty well and from what Ive found, are the only size that matches this model.

Thanks for the info! I've sent him a email. I also found out that, the retailers here have no clue as to the arrival of the spinner. I've been quoted by the end of Feburary from one US disrtibuter. Seriiously![:@][:'(]

Received my Bf109G last weekend, but it have some errors I hate to see. The bottom of the fuselage behind the wing and bottom of the cowling is way to round. They are almost flat at the original aircraft. And the radiatorflaps are hinged in the wing, and not the radiator [:@]
I had planned to install a Laser300V, but the shape of the cowling will leave the sylinderhead outside of the cowling[&:] And the crosses on the fuselage dont follow the datumline of the fuse.

Guess I will try to sell it again.

Yeah, youd think for such a crutial component of this model, they would be a little more readily available! I had no luck at all locating a spinner, until I emailed ESM directly. They put me on to Austars-Model and BINGO! Got one. The guy I emailed at ESM's name is Herlin and he was very helpful. His email address is [email protected]. Maybe he can put you onto one in the USA. If not? Im sure Austars will post one out to you.

Oh, does anyone know of any BF109 F or early G models that had a bare metal finish? I've got a large roll of flight skinz ( like flight metal ) that would look great all over a 109, but I want an accurate scheme. The only one I have come accros is this one http://www.largescaleplanes.com/arti...le.php?aid=628

Cheers

How about the restored one belonging to EADS in Germany? Nothing but bare metal!

Looking awesome N8622t, I used Nelsons hinges on mine. On the canopy and the switch hatch. They're cool and all but I've used hinges from Lowes that worked perfect too. I guess it's just a matter of choice and absolutely convience! If I hadn't ordered so many sets of the Nelsons piano hinges, I would've been off to Lowes!

I just spent another few hundred at the LHS.. receivers and misilanious small things for is bird. My receiver uses lipo batteries so I'm off to make another order from hobby king. hopefully this time, they get it right!

n8622,

Your cockpit looks real cute! Very nice indeed!

Nelson are on the leading edge regarding scale hinges.

But yes, of course, we all use what we prefer best.

Here;
http://www.nelsonhobby.com/miniature_piano_hinges.php

I find the "Miniature 5/8" flange width" best. More space for the screws.

I just tried them on my 50cc Corsair, and will use them on the tail wheel doors too.

Thanks my friend! Yes, my LHS appreciates me much more lately too. Before all these arfs with potential, I only built kits and my parts were ordered in bulk from tower. Any word from down under? These US dealers are saying early March now. Guess I'll get one around my birthday...
