Peter i'm seeing alot of wrinkles in some area's of your flite-metal. How are you going to address this problem. Also why aren't you covering the whole plane even where you have to apply paint you should have covered those area's also. These are just a few pictures of the project that i'm doing with flite-metal and just to apply it and doing the wet sanding has taken me almost two months so far. The last picture is how the final finish will be.

About 10 years or more ago, really don't remember, I covered a Yellow P-38 with aluminum. Back then I got the aluminum from Captain Butch. Anyway, a couple of weeks ago I damaged it and need to get some more material. I am assuming that Flight Metal is basically the same, it looks the same. Anyway, I don't know how much to get since they don't give you a length of the rolls. I only need to recover the plug in wings and the nose in front of the canopy. What part number do I need to order? I have all the tools and some of my own custom ones for putting the Al on, so don't need any of that. Does anyone have a better idea on what I need to purchase?
I little trick to remove the wrinkles, over harder surfaces, fiberglass fuses ect, use Brass!! If you make up some smooth brass tools with different curves you can push out almost any wrinkle. Nice thing about Brass, it grabs the Al just enough to move it and lay it flat. The only problem is that on softer surfaces it will can push the underlying surface out of the way, so be careful on foam sheeted surfaces.
Here is a picture of my P-38 in flight, before I damaged it.
