New Hanger 9 P-47 30cc and electric friendly
Don't know if you guys caught this one!
It looks really nice to me, the P-47 has long been one of my favorite planes. I'm flying a 60 size top flight P-47 now that has been such a wonderful flying plane. I have owned a bunch of hanger 9 planes and I'm always impressed with how light and well built they are. I'm an electric flyer so it's a huge plus that this is electric friendly with a nice hatch on top. Looks like it will come in nice and light for it's size also.
I like the scheme too, this one has me really excited! love the 2 piece wing design also

Great looking plane, and I like the scheme but $750 seems a bit steep to me since the TF giant scale P-47 is just $630 from Tower Hobbies.

We had enough continuing requests for the old Razorback 150 that we decided to bring it back, slightly refreshed. Bubbletop this time around, properly sized main wheels. Same basic airplane with minor changes, including moving the spar aft to make room for the larger wheels, which means wings & fuse from the Razorback are not interchangeable with the Bubbletop's. Flies really nice on the EVO 40GX.
We're back in the giant scale warbird business!

I am glad to see them bring back a big P-47. They were nuts for discontinuing the razorback they used to sell.
I see from the photos this is practically the same plane with modifications to turn it into a "D" model.
They beveled the bottom of the engine box so a pitts style muffler will fit without modification.
For electric guys this is a good one because it is so light.

Tom,
I'll have to have Bill answer that one for you. Robart is doing the retracts for us on this one, sold under a Hangar 9 part number with custom-built struts to fit the airplane.

How cool, but I'd love to make her into a razorback like the other...
Does anyone know of a modifcation kit to change her over ??
Changes to the wing, retracts and wheel well are a big plus, those are the parts I disliked most about the older one.

Yep this plane is getting me more and more excited, the more I look at it
I'm going to hold off on other purchases to have funds for this one... I think it's going to be a real winner.
Love the idea of robart retracts and the bigger wheels it just looks right
I have a few electric setups in mind that should push this thing over 130 mph nice scale speed

I just wish Horizon/Hangar 9 would continue to support their previous 150 P47 (See Prop Wash Pic) release. They are discontinuing the parts. Good luck trying to find a replacement cowl.
[&o]
Would also be nice to see a giant scale warbird offering that hasn't been done before by H9....i.e. corsair.

I heard at warbird over the rockies Hangar 9 was working on a 1/5 scale corsair. Maybe they will beat Top-Flite with their release.

Well,I guess I'll have to go with "Down & Locked" for my razor back.I called Robart last week and they said they don't have the air-retracts for the razor-back anymore. So I'll go with somebody else.Maybe the new electrics are the way to go.

I thought the reason for using factories in China was so products shipped back here would be cheaper. Oh nooo wait a min... that was for bigger profits. My bad.[:-] $750 ? From China...really you all...REALLY!!!!
