RE: Top Flite Giant Corsair ARF Disappeared.
The airplane manufacturers keep their upcoming projects Top Secret until they are ready for the "Official" unveiling. In the Website "biz" you can load content to a site but keep it hidden from the public until you're ready to unveil it. In this case, it looks like the trigger got pulled accidently. Once Top Flite caught the error, they quickly removed the info from the "live" site.
Unfortunately, you can't put the genie back in the bottle.

Not sure why they would pull it down, I don't think this has been any big secret. My LHS told me about this one coming back when the 60 size was announced.
I am just waiting to find out if they will also offer an ARC like the P-51 and P-47.

In these tough economic times, few if any manufacturers have the resources to simultaneously develope 2 new products. Thus, I believe that Top Flite purposely leaked a few niblets out, to generate exitement about what they hope to make available AFTER the release of the smaller, '60 size' version. In fact, based on recent experiences: it appears thare is a good 6 months between the times a new model is officially 'announced', and the time it becomes available. Bottom line: the giant scale Corsair is probably in the works, but don't expect to see them on the shelves before next summer.

It only took a little under 4 years to get our wish from [link=http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_6934678/anchors_6934678/mpage_1/key_corsair/anchor/tm.htm#6934678]Top Flite[/link].
I know there have been rumors of Hanger 9 producing one but haven't seen a peep from them.
ESM answered the call but with TF coming out with their I am very excited about this!

ESM has some GREAT looking models, Corsair no exception. Problem as I see it: they aren't really giant scale. In between '60 size' and giant scale. Not being giant scale, they are not allowed at giant scale events. I'll chose between ones that can either fit in my vehicle fully assembled, OR giant scale. Having something in between just doesn't make sense for me.

They might be waiting till the Toledo show in April.

They had the 60 size at Toledo too, we're still waiting on those.
IMO it's stupid to announce a product then make people wait to the point they loose interest

Hanbgar 9 coming out with a GIANT scle Corsair? Hadn't heard that one, it would be interesting to see it if they do. NEED to have flaps on that one tho, whether they 'need them' or not.

Not really TF will compete with this one: http://www.troybuiltmodels.com/items/ESMF4U-85FAF.html
I like much better the ESM fiberglass fuse and the color they chose. BUT TF has the 3 piece wing advantage:-) TF .60 size ARF was way overpriced when I came out, I would expect the same with the big Corsair... Time will tell... There is a lot of room in the word for more Corsairs:-)

I hope Darrell Tenney ( Serra )is getting better after his motorcycle wreck and is going to introduce a set of gear for this plane.
IMO........ Robart retracts suck.
All you guys getting hyped up about this Corsair should also consider a good set of retracts. Would be a shame to spend that kinda money on the plane just to put substandard retracts in it. Defeats the whole setup.

I for one am very happy to see they leaked the Giant scale version. I believe many people would have been upset to buy other manufacturers only to find a month later the airplane they had been waiting for is now available. My guess is that they had a delivery delay, or a shortage and want to make sure they can meet the demand immediately when released. I can't wait to see the real enchilada!

I like the paint scheme on the ESM 50cc one but knowing TF is coming out with an ARF now I will have to have one. They sort have left it as a blank canvas which is nice. I think I will fly it with the covering on it for a while then strip it and do it up right.
It would be great if they followed up with a RTC.
