Somehow this then became the build thread everyone has used. Was a little confused myself before i read through it.

Well, I have finally started on this bird. Had it setting around for a couple of years. Anyway, I found that the gear rails either were installed a little high or off angle a bit. When the gear is retracted, the end of the strut rotating is a little above the wing not allowing the cover to ly flat on the wing. I though about trying to sand the rail down in place but sure how to do it in keeping the entire rail flat at the same time. Or, maybe the simpler way would be to trim the plastic cover a bit. Anybody else notice this problem when installing the gear? Also, planning to use the Saito fg57TS but now thinking the FG60r3 would be a better choice. Thanks

I was wondering anyone installed Hangar 9 tail retracts into this bird, it looks soo much better that standard robart tail wheel and from the pictures, it looks like it could be a drop in fit. I was also considering to replace the current cowl with Hangar 9 cowl. I have currently fg60 in mine and no problems with the cowl but I consider replacing the engine due lack of trust to fg60, so in that case I would get a new cowl. Hangar 9 cowl looks much more rigid than TF cowl. Any opinions on this?

Thanks for the info. Shame for the cowl, it is much easier to get H9 spare parts around Europe. Do you have any links/pictures to tail retract installation? Hope not much extra work needed. I just had a look at H9 manual and was surprised that actuator is in fact much further in the fuse!

I put my MKS (wing servo) for the rudder inside the fin, rudder control is so much more solid now. I am also using the Hanger 9 scale tail retract, using an air cylinder to operate it. I need to clear some balsa for the tail wheel though. Works fine and the plane now looks and sits properly. Take offs is even much better as the tail is higher off the ground.

Can you post a pic of the rudder servo install?

So, got 4 more flights on mine today. Overall a good day and i am liking the plane more and more.
Of course, take the good with the bad. My electric tailwheel stopped working. Was thinking it just came unplugged, but atlas, once i landed, got home and checked, everything was plugged in properly.
I have not been able to get it working. Have tried all three ports, powering it with the reciever and independently, but the jack screw never moves.
Thoughts?
Thanks

Sorry to hear about the gear but honestly the air system is more reliable. Just use two air tanks, one large and one small. Mine have worked flawlessly and more air volume is the key. I have over 60 cycles on my Corsair gear without fail.
I have a set of the electric gear actuators new in the package from Robart. I have no interest in using them with the trouble people are talking about having with them.

Called robart today amd spoke with one guy. He tried to help, but i had done everything he suggested. He is going to have a tech call me tomorrow. His bet is on the actuator failing. Will see what happens tomorrow. They have worked great since day 1 until this.

So robart did not bother to call me back.
Called them again today. They are more than happy to sell me parts or have me send the tail gear in and pay them to fix it. But because i bought it in november of 15 they will not consider covering the failure under warranty.
So i should have listened to everyone here. This was my first robart purchase and it will most definitely be my last. Complete lack of service or caring about their product working for about 25 cycles.
