Just for you.....A little more progress...Panel lined up and primed, cannon fairings custom made with fiberglass... Discarded electronic cigarettes casings for the cannons themselves which maybe unscrewed for transport / storage .Need to add what seems like a million and one rivets...

Beautiful work on the guns! This is a very informative thread and I plan on shamelessly copying some of your techniques. Attached is a photo of my current progress. I had a bit of a setback earlier this week when I closed my garage door on the wing tip, and it nicely crushed the sheeting and broke the spars. All is repaired now and I can move forward, after a few choice words!

Pleased you are finding it helpful.....I also shamelessly copy most others.......Hmm it is a big wing and easily "pranged" and i also have had chosen words with it at times.....thanks and look forward to seeing more of yours......

Many thanks..... after great debate with others I thought it best to ensure any air entering the area at the rear of the spinner was definitely gonna pass over the head to assist cooling. .... It may well be over the top due to some of the head being directly exposed within the air duct, but peace of mind knowing I have done all I can to baffle / direct air is good....
I just have a few small bits to finish up and now the paint has arrived I am well on the way.....
Yours is looking superb, lets hope they perform as good as they look..
Best regards,
Frank

Nudge, just measured, front of cowl to firewall is 200mm.....this is as plan. I don't think any issue with moving the firewall back, there is 750mm between this and the wing field former...but ..bear in mind these things need plenty of weight up front

Call me primitive but I am struggling with the ignition set up on the DA 85, I have a heavy-duty Futaba switch but I am unsure our to adapt the switch so it actually works " on and off". I have looked at other forums and assume i have to cut into the battery wires to hard wire the switch, is this right or I am totally wrong...
Any advice or pictures are more than welcome....

The red male connecter is for the receiver or ignition module.
The black male connecter is for the charger.
The black female connecter is for the battery.
On is when the switch is towards the side with the single wire coming out of it.
In the off position, the battery and charge charger are always connected.
I see where Tower has it wrong. Test yours with a voltmeter before you use it.
Dan.
